file Best and worst baby buys?

I would have been lost without my Glider (Rocking chair) I still use it and my son is 2. My babywrap (Made this from a long length of stretch material) Don't pay money for something you can make yourself with no sewing involved. It's identical to the mobi wrap. Hated any ring sling or Pouch sling. We had a Diaper champ and I am all for it with disposables, I don't use it anymore because we use cloth nappies but it was a definately lifesaver. We also made very good use out of the Bumbo seat but I know some Moms will disagree on that one. Another lifesaver was the Nursing cover, made breastfeeding out and about really easy and convenient. And my top one will be the very best electric breast pump you can buy or rent if not a dual pump then a single but make sure you have one handy from virtually the start.

best buy...
angel care monitor...expensive but worth it...we have two, one for each boy...

telament drops...a lifesaver

truck loads of wetwipes.....

bouncy chair and bumbo

tommee tippee...all their products...

usn extreme energy drinks...u will need them...and they taste lekker

waste of money....

cheap disposable nappies...rather go with a trusted brand it will save u time and money in the end....

bottles that didnt have a air valve....or anti-colic valve

newborn clothes that require "lots of dressing", i mean fiddly clothes, ya they may look cute, but babies dont like being fiddled with so much..so get plain simple baby-gro's that are easy to put on and take off....

I didn't buy a lot of toys, he hardly played with any for almost a year. Those rattling toy things worked well, bought them from baby city for about R10 or less and they were fine. Got more as gifts at the shower.

Amara born 2 December 2009 Weight 3.30
Kwakhanya born 1 April 2015
weight 3.41kg
Mommy to 2 beautiful boys.

I have to agree with those moms who said no to the big pram/car chair travel sets.

I had one with my first baby and he hated the pram and it was so huge I battled each time I had to try get it into my car.

Our stroller was a win though.

We were given one this time around - a travel set so will see how it goes but we also have a stroller.

We were also given 2 baby baths - I wouldn't have bought one. Those seats that go into the bath are much better - emptying and trying to store the baths are a pain.

Our Kango pouch (back then) was a win :)

Meg the peg perego was one of the best buys!!!

I also bathed Dylan in the kitchen prep bowl and then the big bath with the material stand.

As for toys, you could get a rattle or something, but you will get gifts etc. We were lucky that our friends kids were older so we got so many toys from them that we have hardly had to buy any.

They really only play with toys from age 2 so buy the odd stacking cups or a nice activity centre etc but buy the cheapies. Tiny love is so nice, but really not worth the money. Mr Price has really nice toys too.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

Thanks ladies!

me and DH were visiting friends with a 3 month old baby and she whenever she got abit niggly they would put her in the swing and there would be silence! So we are defenitly getting one!

And i have also looked at double electric breastpumps, I wont be able to breastfeed because baby will have a cleft, so i will be expressing for as long as I can. Now I am just looking for the right one.

We also havent bought any toys? I figured we would get alot once she born? or did you all buy toys before the baby was born?
