hey bonni, i am also from kzn,talk about sleepless nite he doesnt cry that much but he would wake up when i am in the deepest sleeps ever and when he is up i also have to wake up to feed him, i give him his zidovudine syrup twice 6am and 6pm.My boy is growing,3 more weeks to go 4 the day.

We were told at clinic that we culd breast feed but u culd only just give ur child breast milk and nothing else for 6 months and the risks were very high of transfering the virus cos the milk had the virus also, but hey it thru God's grace that we all survive.

I wish this forum can stay alive,i do get so frustrated and wish to talk to someone that understands what i am going thru'..

i ddnt put mines in the fridge, i always gave him late cause i was sooo worn out in the mornings and i just thank God everyday that he is OK.

there are some ladies from kzn that i normally chat with and i was shocked by the information i got from them. 2 of them are breastfeeding and the babies are- (I ddnt knw that we can breastfeed!!! ges my DR doesnt want his patients to breastfeed coz he ddnt even mention that i have a choice ) as long as you give him/her the syrup he/she'll be OK. but it a risk hey....

Hey ladies i gave birth to a healthy 3.3kg hope it stays that way, anyways he is 19 days 2day and going strong,it been hard when i have to give him the syrup,i got the zidovudine syrup and it taste nasty so he doesn't really like it but hey he has to take it and i feel so angry at myself, anyway ladies hope u all okay i just needed someone to talk to who may understand what am going thru, oh and by the way does it have any effect if u dont put the syrup in the fridge?
