Nebulizer

I went to get a nebulizer this weekend. Ashlee really didn't want to sit still while I used it, but I eventually strapped her in her car chair and then used it. I just used saline, and it really helped. She is much better now luckily, but I've got it for next time.

Amy of course just wanted to be nebulized, when she saw me doing it to
Ashlee. I even had a go myself, and I must admit for my allergies, it helps a lot.

Hannahs used ours and Mia's used it aswell, in fact, she's currently on nebulising meds.

It really does help and depending on what illness they have, it can make the difference between them being admitted to hospital or being able to treat them at home.

With Mia when she was sick a while ago the paed asked if we had a nebuliser and said if we didn't we'd either have to get one or have her admitted to hospital. Luckily we already had one at home that we'd used before with her.

It's really a good investment, and you're right it sceems to be the way the docs and paeds are going these days with nebulising the kids for their chest infections!!

I dont know what i would do with out ours, i even went and bought another one for just incase and some times Dh or I will use it too.

Check with your medical aid case sometimes they will cover the costs of one.

when their noses are so sticky that the normal saline nose spray doesnt work then saline in the nebs really seeps in, so yes i think it is defintie a good thing to have one in your house!!!
look at a durbell pharmacy they have them for R300 and comes with nose inserts and also 2 differnt size masks!!!

My 6month old daugher had a really bad block nose for about 2 weeks, 2 weeks ago. She then got a mild throat and ear infection. As soon as that cleared up she started to cough and her chest was really bad with lots of phlem. My hubby bought a humidifier on Saturday. We used eucalyptus and lavendar oil in it and it helped a lot. Her chest was cleared within 2 days!
It was definately worth the R600. Also, you can look at it as an investment, as your baby will still get a lot of colds in the near future and us adults can also use it!!

I swear by a nebulizer and recommend that everyone with small children. As soon as the boys get a sniffle, I put the nebulizer on and it clears very quickly. I really believe that the nebulizer was the only thing that really healed Kyle when he was in hospital

My 5 month old has just had Brochiolitis and we used a nebuliser with saline and Duolin in it 4 times a day. I also had to take him to the Physio everyday for about a week and they nebulised and suctioned each time. He is 100% now. But have started spraying his nose and my 3 yr old nose with saline daily as it does help. If I sense either of them getting sick I will nebulise with saline to keep the germs at bay.
