Nebulizer

elaine: it really is better when they cry cause then they do inhale more, but anything more than 10 min its pointless... they can only take in a certain amount after that the body disposes it. i would do 5 min take break then 5 minutes.
there is a much much easier way, let her sit on your lap with her back against your chest then fold your arms over her pulling them backwards and do not use the mask its not needed. you can just hold the pipe by her mouth or chin. enough goes in... she also wont feel so clausterphobic.
other way also try is let her hold the pipe by her face without the mask again, more than likely cause of age she will put it by her mouth and chew the tips, perfect place hey!!!

my son is also a singulair and seretide pump baby!!!
dr told me not to use a humidifier cause they already have phlegm and the humidifier makes them phlegm wet and sticky, only nebs. humidifier someone told me is only just about useful when they have croup for that dry bark.
makes sense when you think about it!!!

Elaine, sorry for not being able to give you a proper answer, when I really battle I just comfort myself by saying, anything (a few minutes) is better than nothing!

I know it sounds harsh, but if they get upset and cries they actually inhale deeper, so it's worth carrying on! I know it feels as if you are abusing your child, but see it that you help her! Usually I try to do it when hubby is around, then one of us can hold her and the other can be in charge of the nebulizer and mask!

LizeP: I found that if I put Ashlee in her car chair then it was more difficult for her to move away. Yesterday I held her on my lap and got Amy to sing songs to her to distract her. She really doesn't like it much though.

How long should I use the nebulizer at a time? I only get a few minutes done now, before she really gets upset.
