Yellga, here is the link for the baby wizzard nappies:

i just love my cloth journey. my lb is now 13 months and i started cloth when he was 3 weeks.
with my new baby i will do cloth from day 1. and then i will also have 2 cloth bums.

yes, most people react very dramatically to cloth nappies. i find it very amusing and funny.

StellaK - thanks for the reassurance that I'm not doing something I'll regret. I don't have the words to describe the looks I get from people when I tell them I'm going to cloth-nappy. Lol, then I have to whip out my cell quickly and ask Google to show them how gorgeous modern cloth nappies are. I have an assortment of different inserts - I made sure to order extras when I bouth the nappies. I'm going to start off with MF inserts and then as babba's "output" increases, I'll add an additional insert. I have hemp, bamboo and charcoal. I've heard that hemp is the most absorbent so I'll combine that with a MF insert at night. I figured I'd have to wash every day at first until I grow my stash. That's okay. I'm definitely going to take you up on the offer to ask more questions. I'm going to ask my hubster to see if he can find Baby Wizzard on FB and if I need more info, I'll get in touch with you again for her contact details.

I spent the weekend stuffing my pockets. I say weekend, but it actually only took like 30minutes. And the only reason it took so long is because I was showing my hubby how to do it and adjusting the size of each nappy and then folding it. I might be a little OCD...

Jana - I've heard about Alva's gorgeous designs. I wish I could buy them all!!

I started with 12 Alva's but I alter between disposables and Alva's. I must admit, I did buy it purely for the gorgeousness of it. :cheer:

Hallo Yelga,

so glad you have chosen cloth. hoping the obsession bites you as well.

those are all very nice brands.
pockets work very nice - i also have mostly pocket
some ladies do not like stuffing the pockets but it has never really bothered me and also do not take up to much time.

Bamboo baby is very nice. i have the bamboo, microfibre and sleeve and really like them all. the bamboo one is super absorbent.
i very recently got a fancy pants nappy as well and love the fit on my boy. they are some of the trimmest nappies.

i think the Eco nappy solutions and Nappy Shack are basically the same. i do not have any of them but i have other nappies that are also similar and really love them. these are great stash fillers.
i have Alva nappies, snuggly, bum, bum bum boutique, which are all similar and will be similar to the ones you got.

what i can also highly recommend is baby wizzard - these are my favorite ones. you can get them in a pocket or as a cover with inserts. unfortunately tis lady only has a facebook page and not a website, but if you are interested i can get you her contact details and you can email her.
i will attach 2 fotos of my lb in his baby wizzard nappies

12 will be great to start with then you will wash every day. but you can just add the nappies to the rest of babies laundry. with my newborn, i washed a load of laundry every day anyway.

these nappies will only start to fit properly by 5-7 weeks from about 4,5kg's.
what i'm going to do with my newborn (due Aug) is going old school with flats and covers and i'm really looking forward to it. at game you can get 3 muslin squared in a pack for R75 - brand is George. and then buy a few covers (2 or 3)

later on you are also going to need some more absorption as the 1 micro fibre insert is not going to be enough anymore.
the microfibre was only enough for my lb till he was 4 months old. then i added 1 bamboo insert with the microfibre insert and this worked perfectly till he was 13 months. now i have 2 bamboo inserts.

you are welcome to ask more questions.

I'm hoping to get some advice/reviews.

I've decided to give cloth-nappying a go. I'm due in about a month and have decided to use newborn disposables and then switching over to cloth full-time. In doing my research and discovering all the different types of cloth nappies available, I decided to go with pocket nappies. They seem to be a good balance between AIO's and prefolds.

I've read that one shouldn't invest in just one brand for your entire stash because they're not all created equal and you'll find that one brand works better for you than another. So I currently have a stash of 12 nappies made up of Bamboo Baby, Eco Nappy Solutions, Nappy Shack and Fancypants (3 of each brand). I'm not planning on buying any more until I've tried each of these.

I know I'll probably need about 20 more to complete my stash for full-time use, but will 12 be enough to start off with until I know which brand(s) I prefer?

Does anyone have experience with these brands? What worked and what didn't?

I'm not on Facebook, so please don't refer me to the cloth nappy groups on there :silly:
