Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

Until today I thought that I was the only mom who uses cloth nappies... wow. All my friends use disposable nappies and they laughed when I chose this route.

I decided during my pregnancy to use cloth nappies and I dont regret it one bit.

I dry my baby up to 10 times in 24 hours and have no leaks.

I have close to 50 nappies and I opt to handwash Joshua's nappies daily.

During winter I double spin the nappies and pop it into the dri buddy so getting them dry is not a problem.

Bronz, those waterproofs suck (I know cause I use them), if you are willing to spend a bt more try get the mother nature, stegi or bambino mia ones because they have velcro strips to adjust which means they fit far more snug. (if you are using the square towelling this is very important, because they dont fit as snug as the prefolded ones) My ackermans waterproofs were too big to start with and now they cut into his legs, but the bigger size is to big again, so I've decided to bite the bullet and spend R100 on a waterproof. Luckily you dont need to many, I'm going to get 5:)

Haha Ok I just found out my answer.

He had poo all over his baby grow and he hates being wet or having a poo bum. So he was screaming blue murder while I stripped him off. Then while naked he managed to wee all over his face, so that just upset him even more.

This is what the waterproof looked like. The toweling nappy was not touching the white lining when I put it on and the waterproof is a 0-3 month.

Just a quick question should the pull up water proof form a seal around the leg or is it ok if it is open? Graeme's legs are loose in the legs.

I hav about 30 toweling nappies, just the old fashion squares. I thought I would first give it a go with the pull up water proofs.

goodness me. there are so many materials and i don't even know much about fabric and sewing... i think i'll just stick with the cotton toweling and buy some MN nappies for the baby.

Terry cloth is cotton towelling. The MN nappies are made of towelling made from bamboo pulp, not cotton. The Bambino mia sysitem is made from layers of plain cotton:) You do also get hemp nappies.

Gerne, that's exactly my question. I'm not sure what terry cloth is. Is that normal toweling??

The bamboo, looks the same, it is a toweling material. But the bamboo nappies is mixed with something else, apparently the bamboo is the material that takes long to try.

I have seen the bambino mio nappies, and that is a total different material. I'm going to check out the BM stand at the Baba Indaba at the end of the month. maybe i will get some first hand advice.

we have been away for the weekend and used disposables. have to say i missed my cloth nappies!! i just hate that bag of nappies that i have to through away at the end of each day.

I have made about 5 nappies now, this week i'll order some stegi waterproofs. then only will everything start to go easier.
