Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

2kidmom, i like this one, because every clip loose from each other. The mother nature have that loose, thick piece in the middle, which look that will take a while to dry.

i spoke to the lade who designed these. She sold mother nature nappies and then decided to design her own. i think they are a good mixure of bambino mio (the waterproof) and mother nature, the inner and booster pad.

tonight will be my first night. i will let you know.

p.s. i also did my first wash by hand...hehehehe

Hehehehe HelenS, you sound just like me. I was up at 07:00 with the first nappy washing it by hand just so I could hang it out to dry. I am so glad I am not the only one starting so late to use these nappies. I looked at the Bam+Boo site and I think when I go to buy more nappies I will also try those. Anina, about the soaking. Do you soak in detergent or just water? do you use one of those big buckets with lid?

2kidmamma, we are on the same page right now. i just bought my first nappy to try out!! i bought Bam+Boo. Have a look for more details on their website: www.bamboobaby.co.za/

I looked at Bambino Mio, Stegi and Mother Nature. Stegi & Bambino Mio have different sizes. Mother nature & Bam+Boo is from birth to potty, which i like!! I chose the bam+Boo, purely because they look more atractive and come in different colours.

I have tested the first one yesterday. (my son is now 22 months) he is a big boy, and the nappy fit (with room to grow) on the largest size. I'm washing it today, to try it through the night tonight.

I'm very excited about this GREEN choice of mine.

I also use cloth. I make my own nappies based on the Bambino mio nappies and buy Stegi waterproofs. It works great!

It sounds like you are on the right track with the amount of nappies and your attitude!!

I wash every 2nd or 3rd day and same as Marijke, pop the nappies in a bucket when dirty, but I soak them in the bucket.

I also use Cherubs wet wipes and nappy liners (the nappy liners doesn't say flushable but they are, we have a septic tank and I have no problem flushing them)

In winter or on rainy days I put my nappies in our Dri-buddy to dry. It dries in one cycle. Other days I use the good old sun and its quick, like about an hour.

At the moment I use disposables at night because my LB has a big bladder... But I'm going to make some bigger nappies soon (when this pack of disposables are finished) and then use the normal waterproof with a fleece waterproof over (available from earthbabies.co.za for R75) and I'm sure that will do the trick!

Well I feel Ntoko, our Mothers used them with us and we are all fine so why shouldn't we use them on our Kids. Besides being financially much more affordable it certainly benefits our enviromnent in leaps and bounds. I have bough the Mother nature shapes nappies but have about 20 towelling squares that I can also use in between. i want to go to PEP stores today because I have heard from a friend that uses the Mother Nature nappies as well that they have a waterproof with presstuds that costs only R9.99.
