Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

is your husband all for the cloth nappy idea?

mine think it is a great idea, but when i started to talk about the square nappies, he weren't so sure anymore.

But, there is absolutely no difference, the one just look more modern, that's all.

well i washed my nappy this morning and eagerly hanged it in the winter sun. By 16H00 when i took it from the line, the inner were still damp. i had to put it in the tumble dryer.

I only have 1 nappy and don't want to send it to school. so as soon as he comes from school i want to put on my cloth nappy. which were still wet so i simply took one of the plain glodina square nappies, fold it, put in on with the BAM+BOO cover. worked lovely! Thought by night time i could just replace the nappy with the inner from the dryer. only to my dissapointment: The nappy cover (waterproof) cannot be used twice, there is a fabric bit on the insite which were wet.

so he is off to bed with a disposable again.

i'm starting to think that it might just be the easiest to use the plain old square nappies, with one of the branded waterproofs, or as they call it "nappy cover". you might have the hassle of folding, but they wash and dry so much easier!!

I have 4 plain ones, will buy some pep waterproofs 2morrow and try them over the weekend. maybe i should get a mother nature cover, how much are they?

we are going to my parents on the farm, so it should be easy to wash and dry them there.

Ok, so by 8pm I had washed and dried all the nappies from today (3 to be exact) When I got home I was very weary to open the bucket because they told me at school that my LB had had 2 poo nappies in his new nappies... Well I must say, they had chucked off the most of the poo and the Tea Tree oil really seemed to take the smell away. I put the hand shower on in the bath and sprayed off the remainder of the poo, then I put the nappies in the machine with a teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda and my BioWashball and let it go. When they came out they were spottless, I tumbledried then till almost dry and took them out and let them hang inside until the dampness had gone. I am quite happy so far, I must say!

Have a good evening, i'm off to wash my 3 nappies now!! Hehehe, i see I am going to be a busy mommy to keep this up until I can buy more.

really marijke, you just fold them in 3 and put in the waterproof??

i just found a recipe for making your own baby wipes on the internet!!

Baby Wipes:
1cup water
1tb baby oil
1tb baby shampoo
Tea Trea Oil
Mix everything together and either wet some of those clothy kitchen towel and put in airtight container. or use normal face clothes OR make your own from a soft fabric.
