Ek skrik my boeglam as A so maak.

haha on the flings thing! B also goes bananas when she sees flings :)

I have never bought purity, found it so funny when I was in the shop one day and a lady came up to me and said "you look like the type that can help me, where is the purity?" and I couldn't help thinking how wrong she is but I sent her in the direction anyway!

The most useless baby item I've ever seen is those gauze feeding things with the handle then you put the food in it so baby wont choke. Ofcourse it puts the fear of *** in mothers but is such an unnecessary expense. If you do it right from the start you will never need it

We mainly eat organic and I always look out for the symbol. Jade ate 100% organic till she was 1 and Troy will do the same. And after that as much as I can possibly do. Unfortunately Jade is older now and knows what Flings are! Dammit!

I picked up a Purity bottle when I went shopping - it said apple & yoghurt or something. Very strange cos there wasn't one bit of real yoghurt in there?!

Mia_HannahsMommy, I also bought into the whole mush idea until I really started thinking about it and wondering who pushes this on us? Possibly the people who make the money from it. Saw on a USA chat that one mommy posted that a baby food company is now selling 'cookies' for 4 month olds and another mother wondered if the obesity crisis has been sorted out yet!

But who on earth would push a diet where you don't need to buy anything like bottled mush and special baby utensils? Not the people who are selling them.

Also read that they found 'alarming' amounts of lead in baby products and products packaged as being 'organic' makes you wonder if we really know what's in the stuff we think are good for our children

Ok. I'll try it for sure. Sorry, I hope it didn't sound like I thought my girly was behind or anything, but it's just I'm used to the whole mushed food thing until they get at least two teeth then start the finger foods, so at around 8 months start finger foods. It's all new to me.

Who says you can't teach an old mom new tricks?

:silly:

I'll try some butternut and potato "sticks" too.
