Ello Ladies,

Well I have just taken a HPT and yip I got a BFP.

Ashleigh - you think your gap is close well.... I have a 17year old daughter (Gasp) got married in December 2010 and DH hasnt had children so we decided to try for a LO.

I had a MC last yr July +- 8 weeks

and had a tramatic MC in January 2011 , at 12 weeks.

So really hoping this bean will stay put.

Looking forward to becoming good friends will all of you.

My gyni only wants to see his moms 10 weeks after last AF , I see some of you have already been to your and had scans (wow) our med aid is minimal after all the expenses of the MC.

Do you have to go for bloods ? or is a HPT enough ?

no man, posted this long post this am and now it is all gone :(

Carol perhaps it would be a good idea for you to go the midwife route, they are much cheaper!

Ashleigh, so jealous about the scan, I need to make an appointment still...*tick-tock*

DH also couln't keep it to himself and he told his brother and his parents, so to be fair I told my parents and a couple of really close friends.

Hi all,

Cookie Monster, I can confirm that sparkling water and granny smith apples work for MS. I am also starving the whole time. Just glad I don't throw up after eating. I am also kinda glad that I havent picked up any weight yet! Last time I picked up 4kg in first trimester and a lot more later.

DH couldn't keep it to himself. Told his mother and she couldn't keep it to herself so the brother know. So to be fair I told my parents and my bro and sis. And then just my best friend. So still not telling anyone else yet.

Justine, I live in Kuilsriver. I had a C-sec because baby was not lying as he should. But I was a bit relieved as I was scared to death!! LOL This time I would like to try it normal. I am always so scared of complications. I am still thinking of taking a medical aid, but at the moment we will have to save seperate for the pregnancy. And even though we wanted to get med aid for whole family, it will work out a lot for the next 7 months. Soooooo still not sure what to do.

Ashleigh so glad the scan went well and all is good. Cant wait for my scan! 8 more days. I haven't even heard my babas heartbeat yet
:( My gp prescribed something for my little one for sinus. He said its safe for me to use. Sinuprat or something. Not sure. But I only used it twice as I am really scared to use any medication now. HOpe you feel better soon.

Do some of you show already? I have got this bump there and I just look really fat. Maybe I am just bloated. Or it is 5 babies  LOL

Ashleigh, what great news from your scan. there is nothing better than seeing the little bean with its little heart beating away, isnt there? its so reassuring. my doctor is on holiday when i'd normally expect to do the first scan so im going to her a bit earlier... at 6 weeks 2 days. its quite early, but i really hope i get good news.

Lollipop, how fabulous that you've found a professional midwife and can give birth at VP. im such a huge fan of going that route. its so wonderful to have someone there that you know and trust with you through the whole thing. and i love that they see childbirth as a natural thing, rather than some kind of medical condition!

sorry to hear that everyone's sick. lets hope we all get better soon... its hard enough being queasy and snotty at the same time!

Thanks Justine! I am (if my calculations are correct) due the 24tj Feb 2012. From November to Feb is going to be terrible months financially in our house...my b-day, christmas, T's b-day the baba...eish
Seems like there is light at the end of the tunnel! Spoke to Sandy Standish and really like her, found out she was the midwife for a friend of mine that used to be a midwife, so that is good news to me. And she is very reasonably priced too. Best part is medical aid will pay for my visits and they said that I can use VP!

Carol/Cookie monster you said that you don't have medical aid, perhaps a midwife would be a good route for you to go? Way cheaper than Obgyn.

I am also sick...have this silly cough and post nasal drip...hmm, must remember to make use of my son's illiadin (he doesn't allow me to use it for him in any event)

Glad the app went well Ashleigh. Ashleigh, I also wanted to keep it quiet, but the moment that line appeared on the stick, DH sms'ed his brother, and then told his parents, so I didn't want mine to hear it from his so told them. I had to tell my bosses (I think it is better to do is sooner rather than later) and then one of my close friends knows...

The scan today was great. Doc is very happy. Heartbeat 121bpm, baby is 5.5mm. He said I ovulated late so my due date is now 12 FEB 2012.

I am also sick. Doc said I can only use Iliadin. He said I must stick out another 2 weeks if I dont get worse. If condition is the same in 2 weeks then only is he going to prescribe something. I just really bad sinusitus, i have had it for almost 2 weeks.

DH and I have only told 3 close friends and their partners. We haven't told family yet. I want to wait until we out of the 1st trimester, but hubby wants to tell them now. I'll have to compromise with him that he can tell his sister but wait before we tell our parents. But the other giveaway is the growing belly so will see how long i can hide it.

Welcome lollipop!
i think we must be fairly close in due date then... my EDD is Feb 26.
Good luck with your search for a supportive Gynae. As i mentioned on another thread, give professional midwives a thought, with a backup gynae. Im also in CT, southern suburbs (Meadowridge).

Cookie-monster, sorry i cant give any MS advice. i was lucky enough to avoid it first time around. im a lot more queasy this time and am going to take it as a good sign. at least i hope its a natual curb on appetite. i completely overdid the weight gain bit when preggies with my son. i absolutely cant do that again!
