Congratulations Tazzy!!!

Guess why I've been quiet ladies!! My baby Tamina finally made an appearance!!!!!!! And it all happened spontaneously!!!!

I woke up at 3h30 am on Thursday after I realised that it was an actual contraction and I wasn't dreaming :) . By 4h30 am I couldn't be normal, had to concentrate. 6h30 there was pressure, hubby started getting ready to leave for Genesis. Went to drop our son and raced to Saxonwold....horrible M1 traffic as always, hubby took double-ups, driving on yellow lane and everything ahahaha... In town he asked traffic cops to escort us, helped a lot, I was already pushy!!! Got to Genesis around 8h30 am, pushing involuntarily. Internal exam, got in the tub, water burst, and pushed and pushed, eventually got out of the tub onto birth stool, my bum hardly made it there and she crowned, at 9h35. She weighed 3.9 kg, 57 cm....totally didn't expect her to be so big.
Came home today, doing well. I thank God it all went so well!!!! With her weight and since I was a VBAC.
I'll try load pictures, hubby took them with big camera so they are more than 2MB...

Hi Ladies,

Tazzy Congrats on the birth of your little angel. He is gorgeous!!
Sorry your birth plan got chucked out the back window, but atleast your little babba is healthy and in your arms, and that is the important part!

Pamela,
I am sooo sorry for your loss.
I don't know where you are situated, but when I was on treatment, I lived in Wellington in the Western Cape. My Doctor was in Paarl. Dr. Auden A Carolissen. He trully is an amazing Gyni. I got my prescription filled at any Dischem, and eventually found out my doctor has a dispensing liscence, so I got my meds strait from him, that saved me about 50% on the cost of my meds... Bloody greedy pharmacies! I know the doctors in Gauteng don't really use Femara as treatment, it is found more in the Western Cape, But if you are in the Gauteng area, talk to your doctor and ask him if he can't prescribe it for you! I had wonderful results on it.

Cherikey,
Thanks for the advise on the nipple shields, will deffinately keep it in mind.

Sma,
Any news?

Hi Snoekie ,

I have been stalking all mums that were due this month as I would also have been due this month but I had a misscarriage last year. I have seen that you have been on Femara so I know it is available in South Africa. Please can you tell me where you had your script filled or which pharmacy I can go to. I appreciate your feedback .

U are truly blessed and God has given you a precious gift.

Congrat's Tazzy...

Good Luck Sma & Snoekie, seems you two are the last ones standing :)

Tazzy and anyone else struggling with BF, i HIGHLY suggest you get nipple shields... I used them with my first born and they've been a godsend now with the second as well, especially in the beggining.

With my LG, and her being prem we just couldn't get her to latch and so decided to go the bottle route, just to get her out of NICU. Once she was home i'd start her feed with bottle, quickly change to the nipple shields (for her the two teets seemed the same). After doing this for a couple of feeds i stopped the bottle and only used the shield and then half way through the feed i'd remove the shield. After doing this for 2 days i stopped the shield altogether and BF happily till she was about 8 mths old.

My my LB now, he latch well from the beginning but sucked like an electrolux and as i hadn't prepped my nipples enough they really really hurt & started to bleed. So again i whipped out my nipple shields for every feed and after a week they had healed & now nearly 3 weeks later our feeds are going well.

The shields help to protect your nipples and as they're bigger & harder it's easier for the newborn to latch and one piece of advice is to be patient, patient and more patient... It really helped me get through the tough times!

Hi Ladies... Not sure what I have missed out on! Will catch up soon.
Just wanted to let you all know our beautiful little Angel Connor Glen decided he wanted to suprise Mommy and Daddy at Midnight on Saturday. My water broke, it was like the Vall dam, and we had an emergebcy ceaser @ 2:20am in the wee hours of Sunday morning 13th Jan our little boy came into this world! He weighed 3.11kg and is 49cm long. He is so perfect and I'm so in love! Struggling to get him to latch, which is getting me down as I really wanted to breastfeed. For now I'm pumping and feeding him with the calma Medela bottle. The ceaser definitley wasn't how I pictured my birth, we didn't have our Dr, Midwife or pead and everyone was real grumpy that I got them out of bed in the middle of the night. All of that is water under the bridge now and I'm just so greatful for my beautiful blessing!

Hoping to catch up once we settled. Good Luck Snoekie and SMA, hope your precious angels arrive soon!

Xxx

Good day Ladies,
So I went to the doctor today. He said the plasenta and cord pulse is still stong and healthy, but the amniotic fluid is becoming too little. So If I don't go into labor on my own by Teusday he is going to induce. I really pray it doesn't come to that. Other than that baba picked up some weight, and is now weighing 3.672kg.

Sma,
I really hope all works out for you. Good luck with the induction.
I realised the other day that you and I are the only ones whowm have gone the full 40 weeks so far... So congratulations I guess.

How is everyone else doing?

Hope you all have a fantastic day, and I hope I go into labor!!!!!!
