Hello Ladies :)

I am so glad to see the pic's of everyone's nurseries - looking so cute!!!

Cherikey - sorry to hear about your shower - enjoy your scan on Saturday and seeing your little boy - the scan's are what we live for   - hope you and your little girl have a fantastic time bonding in Sodwana (sorry hubby has to work :) )

Tazzy9 - really cute pic of Connor!!!

Kelz - sorry to hear you are feeling down & missing your mom   I hope all goes well with your SIL - how far along is she now? For my last preganancy I used the Medela Mini Electric and it worked well as I used it regularly esp as i had to be away for a couple of days and was able to express enough milk for my LG but this time round I have gotten the Medela Swing breastpump (I did not think I would need to get the one with two pumps but that would make the expressing go ALOT faster   )

Anthea - thanks for the info on the costumes - I am heading for Makro after work today to check it out - I saw one at a baby shop last night - only R649..... I just cannot justify spending so much on a costume.... I was also wondering about attending classes this time round... we had not planned to...

AFM - our baby does not have a nursery as yet  - she will have to share with us/my LG - having said that I am still trying to convince my husband to get a cradle that rocks (but to use it for only a couple of months is a waste of money.....) we had one of these olden-day prams with the big wheels for myLG and she loved it and we could move it wherever we were in the house - really worked well for the first couple of months.... We went to the baby show this past weekend and got stocked up on some essentials for baby and I also bought some cloth nappies (only 10 to start with to see how it goes). I will not be having a baby shower - had such issues with my in-laws during my LG's shower that I asked them not to organise one this time round.... my in-laws were staying with my SIL and she had a huge fight with them on the day of the shower - I got a call from hubby during the middle of the shower to say that in-laws would be moving in with us.... had to take everything out of my nursery so they could stay there and they did not leave until after LG was born.... I dont want a repeat - I would rather just buy whatever I need :S :S

On a last note - I have just been to the hairdresser for a much needed haircut/colour - I am feeling so much better :woohoo:

Have a fantastic rest of the week!!!

Good Morning ladies.

Having a real blue day today  I'm feeling terribly home sick and missing my mum..people tell me that this feeling does get bad when you are pregnant if your mum is not involved or with you - it's very true. there's nothing like a mum's love when you have pregnancy hormones and questions to ask.
My sister in Law has also been admitted to hospital for observation so I am literally worried sick about her - She has lost Amniotic Fluid and the baby is growing slower than expected so she is being observed this week and a decision will be made at the end whether or not to take baby out early - I am praying for her, she has been through so much already and has one miracle baby.

@Tazzy: I am a first time mother and worse than a virgin when it comes to buying this stuff - I bought the double one instead of the swing but honestly speaking, I have absolutely no idea if I made the right choice or not..this whole "breastfeeding thing" is so daunting to me right now.
My husband and I stood in Dischem on Saturday looking at Bottles and Pacifiers etc etc and I swear everyone else in the shop must have had a good laugh at us...we are both seriously clueless (hence missing my mum even more than a normal day..) :headbang: you have no idea how much the info of the monitor and pump helped me! so thanks once more...

@Cherikey: so sorry to hear about your baby shower - that's a real bummer and I would be upset - but woohoo for the scan and the break in Sodwana!! I hope you have an amazing time.

@Snoekie: I am also going to Wilgers. Can you only book classes after you have booked your bed or how does it work?

Just one more week to my 28 week scan - seems to take forever between scans but when I look back I cant believe the time has gone so quickly - 3rd trimester here we come!!

Hope everyone has a great day further

Hi Ladies

@Cherikey & Snoekie - Loving your nursery pics - both looking lovely! You are so organised! I cannot wait to get mine sorted!

@Kelz so glad you got sorted at Dischem, its a huge saving and such a pity more people dont know about it. Medical Aid will probably stop paying if too many people know about it! Which pump did you get? Not sure if I have made a mistake getting the swing instead of the double one?

@Anthea we also went for our 28 week scan yesterday and our little boy is also weighing 1.3kg's - I am just so happy and relieved we have reached 28 weeks! We go for our 4d tomorrow - too much excitement!

I had my baby shower on Sunday - got so spoilt! I cannot wait to tick off my list what I have and what I still need to get.. I need a lot of clothes still. How many vests do you need 1 - 3 months etc? and how many baby growers?

Here is a pic of our lil Connor - love this boy so much!

@Anthea... sounds like baby is doing very well. I can't wait for my scan this Saturday...

I'm a bit bummed today as we've cancelled my baby shower... Most people couldn't make it so there really is no point. As we have most things anyways, i think we'll rather have a "Nappy Braai" once our little man is here... Then everyone can get to meet him & bring a pack of nappies hopefully ;)

Anyways, the upside is as said i have a scan on Saturday which i'm excited about and then on Sunday we head to Sodwana for a week at the beach/pool... Hubby is working there and we always go with. Last year my princess & i spent the week swimming either at the pool or at the beach which i'm SUPER excited about!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone

Just a quick update on baby's growth! Doc is very happy and she is growing beautifully. Weighing in 1.3kgs at 28weeks... Puts her about a week ahead of her gestational age...

She is currently breech at the moment, but Doc's not too concerned about her turning in time. He is of the opinion that the only time she wont turn is if my pelvis isnt wide enough for natural birth... and he says this isnt the case as i have had natural birth before!!

@Snoekie - those look so cute hey! Do remember too... Are you guys going to the weekly classes? How were the classes last night?

With my LG we went for the one full day class... Do you second time (and third time) moms think its necessary to go again for antenatal classes?

@Melisue - the reason i asked is that the coastal air is more humid, which would explain the increase in mouldy conditions etc, especially if the mattress had been stored away for a period... i think to put your mind at rest it is best to get a bew mattress... Enjoy your doc appointment today!

I left the scan pics at home but will post them as soon as i can!

Have a great day ladies! Its a scorcher in PTA today!
