January 2013 - Baby/Mommy Club!

@Snoekie... Room looks divine!!! I have some wooden tatty teddy kind of cut outs you can have if you're prepare to pay for postage. I bought them for my LG's room when she was a baby but now it's just stuck on the inside of her cupboard all hidden away... Would love to sell them, but happy to give them away to a fellow mommy... Let me know, i can send you a pic!

I understand that it is bad that people just buy the breastpump to buy it, But it is horrible for them to keep info like that from clients. I am really glad that you were able to get all of the goodies and that you were able to save all that money!

I went to my Sister in law's 30'th birthday party. But when I got there, it turned out to be a baby shower for me. It was sooo much fun and I got lovely gifts. The coolest gift was my other sister in law and her husband who baught me a rocking chair!!!
Me being the eager beaver that I am, put Hubby and his brother to work the same day to build the chair and cot. So I finaly got around to finnishing my baby room. The Changing station that I built into the cubbourd still needs a few racks, But the idea is there. I put the changing the station in the cubbourd due to a lack of space in the room.

Hope everyone is well rested after the weekend?

I just want to say Thank you sooooo much for the info on the monitor/Breast pump (If I remember rightly it was Anthea and Tazzy9?) I went on Sat and got both items on Discovery which saved me over R3000 - AMAZING! When I got to the Pharmacy counter and asked to put it through the lady gave me a knowing but kind of cheeky grin..when I asked she said that not many people know about this and they are also not supposed to "divulge" the information because what people do is claim these items on Discovery then sell them on for the money....Makes sense I suppose but it is still a great saving for parents and I am so glad for the info as we are certainly not the richest parents around so Thanks again!

Got all of the "big" items now like pram/cot/monitor etc, except for a changing table..any suggestions as to where I can look for a reasonably priced one? (preferably with drawers or storage space underneath as we don't have too much wardrobe space)
I was never a Cozzie person before I got pregnant as I am somewhat on the larger side and never felt comfortable so I think I'll be sticking to my swim shorts and strappy/stretchy top for swimming etc this summer.

Everyone's pics of their bumps and baby rooms are awesome - we are also thinking along the lines of a Jungle/Animal theme but are quite restricted to decorating in our rented town house (Landlord says we can paint but only Neutral colors)

Anyway, hope everyone has a great week ahead - 2 months of work left for me (not that I'm counting )

@Anthea, your bump is coming along so nicely. I've been looking for another cozzie for my holiday but can't find one, good idea to look at Makro...

I went to an open day at a secondhand baby store on Saturday and got the following:

Cot Mobile: R250
5x Newborn Babygrows: R50
Carriwel Nursing Bra: R30
Babybath: R50

I think all of it was a super good deal especially the bra...

I booked my hospital bed 2 weeks ago... So all in all, we are now ready for baby... Just have to pack my bags. 31 weeks for me this week & super excited as on Saturday morning we get to see our little man & then in the afternoon it's a little baby shower. Little as i don't think many people can make it!

Its Monday But the bonus for us is that we are 28weeks today and we going for our scan Cant wait to see how much she has grown!!

Also not brave, or thin enough, to take a cozzie pic. I did get a cozzie at Makro... From the bigger sized ladies side - and it has that built in skirt thing that Cherikey suggested!! It is a full piece but it can grow with my tummy which a bonus... the only problem is that it is a big around the boob area but with the straps i can tighten it enough... And it didnt costs an arm and a leg...

I really like the kid's room. It isn't easy if two kids need to share a room, and even more difficult if it is a boy and girl sharing! So congrats on a job well done!

AFM,
My Cloth Nappies are on their way! Ordered and paid for 30 Nappies and I also baught 6 ultra night time boosters.
Other than that I am doing very well. Was very dishartened yesterday when I found out BamBoo Baby is closing down. I am on their Facebook page, so I got the news emediately, I did buy the nappies from them as they have the best looking ones, Just hope they don't give me trouble. Will come and post pictures as soon as I recieve them and wash them. I'm SUPER excited!!!

Will a chiropractor help with it? I am also depserate hey... Read thats its the hormones making the area so relaxed and that can cause rubbing together of the two pelvic bones... and thats what causes the pain...
