@Cherikey Im sure your gynea has tested to see if you are immune so just give him a call. Im sure there is nothing to worry about but just make sure 100% else it will be on your mind.

@Melisue - sorry to heard about the SIDS death in your family, I didnt think that happened anymore with all this modern technology
I got my Angelcare movement monitor at Dischem through medical aid, the alarm sounds if there is no movement (breathing) for a certain time period - I heard these are the best monitors. Never heard of the other 2 you have mentioned.
I would also buy a new mattress if you can afford it, you can get them for about R250

Hope everyone else is well...

Its my baby shower on Sunday - I am so excited!

Thanks Snoekie! You are indeed very lucky to have gotten it on sale... I am sure the weather will clear up soon in Gauteng, and with us being our heaviest over December in Jan, i definitely want to have one on hand...

I found this one on a website and wonder what you ladies think of it?

Anthea,
I baught mine at a maternaty shop's closing down sale, otherwise I wouldn't have had one either. They are really expensive. I baught a two piece. The top is long to cover the belly with a normal bikini bottom. Really comfy and looks really cute. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been playing along at all, so I haven't swam as much as I would like to.

Hi Ladies...

Long time!! So happy to see you are all well and progressing nicely :)

Quick update on me
I'm now 27 weeks - no complaints and doing well.(other than the usual LOL) We are having another boy and due date is still 28 Jan 13 - Getting very excited and we just finished painting room. (also doing jungle animal theme :P )
Baby shower will be early Dec as Jan is terrible time for a shower!

Just wanted to pop in and get your opinion on something....
Are you all using the same cot matresses from for 1st born for the new baby?
We recently had SIDS death in the family and naturally everyone is concerned and very emotional still and looking at all possible causes to avoid it again.
One of the unproven causes is that old matresses might harbour fungus that is dangerous when breathed in. Everyone I ask says I should just have my matresses cleaned professionally and then reuse them.

This got me thinking that instead of buying new matresses(as there are many possible causes of SIDS), maybe I should rather take the money and invest in the Respisense monitor or Snuza Halo (clips onto nappy to monitor breathing) I bought my breast pump through discovery at dischem so maybe I can get this through med aid too?? Has anyone used these ??

Any advice would be great - I was never this paranoid until now...
Thanks Ladies

Ladies

With summer fast approaching and me not being able to fit into a swimming costume anymore, what maternity swimming costume are you ladies using, and what would you recommend?

The Carriwell one is way too expensive for such a short period of time...

My Gynie in Paarl tested me for Rubella when we started with Fertility treatments so I didn;t get it done again once I was pregnant. But they test for it at 12 weeks.

All the best Cherikey!!

Realy hope your LG doesnt have measles!

Snoekie is right - it should have been tested for by your doc when they do that battery of blood tests... Cant remember if its around the 12 week or 16 week mark! Its probably safest to contact your doc...
