Hi Jeanine, Ek is bly as dit darem nie te rof is nie Jy is n beter mens as ek, ek het net zero self control as dit kom by kos op die oomblik ek dink dis n mental ding oor daar so baie dinge is wat ons nie kan eet nie ( wein en shushi en biltong en droe wors ect ) dat ek net glad nie nee se vir dit wat ek well kan eet nie maar ek hou darem my gewig dop dat dit nie te veel hand uit ruk nie maar ja ek is ook nie een van die maerste of kleinste mensies nie, so ek weet daar is n langpad voor na swangerskap maar nou LOL

The diet is not TOO bad - I was on a very similar diet before falling pregnant (stopped because of MS ).
This diet is actually easier than the one I usually go on (low carb vs no carb )

Technically I should be on this diet for the rest of my life but I just can't stay away from the sweets and chocolates for too long

Jeanine, I am happy that every thing looks with baby and so excited for the ok on VBAC!!!!! That is so exciting. Are you going try at a hospital or Genisis?
I am sorry to hear about the strict diet that is not lekker but its only for a short while and as you say we do it for a healthy baby!!!!

Hi Ladies,

So, just got back from my first appointment with my midwife.
Everything is looking good, and depending on both baby's size and position she is happy to let me attempt a VBAC.
Got to hear baby's heartbeat - still 160+

BUT.... mentioned my sugar issues to her, and the fact that gynea wants me monitored for gestational diabetes - so she told me to just go on the diet now, and not even wait till after all the tests. So, no more bread/rice ect for me, little to no sugar (and only brown) - and worst of all, no more chocolates

But then again, anything for a healthy baby...

Genesis Clinic is really amazing, there is nothing like that here in Namibia there are barely any register mid wives and most births are done by a Doctor or gyne in Hospital. I have been on the website a couple time's and LOVE the homey feel to the rooms apposed to the sterile hospital environment.
But I tend to agree I think those extra few nights in hospital is also a valuable time to rest.

AFM: Sorry I am going to complain a little today......... The nausea is back been throwing up every morning for the past week and half. The 4 weeks it was gone was such bliss.........
Also the not sleeping is back, I fall asleep fine and then when I wake up to go to the loo I am wide a wake any cant fall back asleep.... so I am feeling a bit sorry for my self today coz I am really tiered. ( even thought of calling in a sick day today hehehe )
On the up side babies are more active every day but DH still cant feel movement form the outside but I am hoping that will also start happing soon as he is so desperate to feel them hehehe

Other than that we are doing very well and I hope that all you ladies are as well

Izzels, Ja, genesis is regitg fantasties!! Het meer soos n hotel gevoel as n hospitaal
Ek het met n keiser opgeeindig, so ek moes 3 aande bly Maar om eerlik te wees, ek is bly ek is nie na net 1 aand huis toe nie!!
Ek het aan die begin n bietjie gesukkel om te borsvoed, en ek dink dis al die hulp wat ek oor daai 3 dae gehad het wat gemaak het dat ek nie moed opgee nie!!

Ek het aand laat keiser gehad (na 7) so al wat ek oor geworry het was rus, nie huis toe nie

Vra jou gynea / hospitaal - dalk laat hulle toe dat jy n opblaas bad huur en opstel? nie seker hoe die hospitale daar daaroor voel nie, maar dis n opsie...
