NewMommyCPT I had the GST on Saturday and my results were not great. My fasting level was 6.1, it had to be lower than 9 for me to go through with the test which I did. An hour after drinking the glucose it was at 12 and another hour after it was at 11. Dr Dalla called me on Monday to tell me the results and I also ended up in hospital for two nights. They monitored my blood glucose levels and she has now asked me to check my sugar daily and send her the results once a week. Dr Dalla says I have gestational diabetes and gave me metformin tablets, she assured me it's harmless to the baby. I'm seeing my dietitian on Saturday to get my new eating plan. It was all very scar as I'm only 30 weeks tomorrow. When I got the call on Monday it's safe to say I was in panic mode.
I'm a research bunny and thought I knew all that could/would go "wrong" during pregnancy, this rocked my core and I humbly learned that we are only in control to a certain extent.
Despite all this action, my baby is perfectly fine, they monitored him twice daily for about 45 minutes on the fetal monitor which I have to say was the best part of the saga as I could lay and listen to he's heartbeat
It also gave me the oppurtunity to see the labour ward and meet some of the nurses! The lady in the bed next to mine also had bladder infection, I felt so bad for her when she came in as she was in so much pain. She was still there when I left yesterday and is a patient of Dr Taliep.
Thank you for the photographer info!

will run through their websites with hubby and make the decision.
30 weeks tomorrow!!!!
