Hi sugar-and-spice, I will definitely be up for meeting somewhere in CPT.

Hi jinxedsa, I get that all the time too.... Sleep alot now, you wont get rest once baby comes.... well if only i could get a good night's sleep.... that would help.

Only 45min of my last work day left of 2014

:)

Come Monday I am going to lie in, and stay in my PJs until noon, and do absolutely nothing. On Tuesday I'll start going again, i think i just need one day to rest and actually be on holiday...

Have a great weekend!!

Hi there all

Hope all is well

NewMommyCPT - I am also finishing work on friday, I cannot wait either.

My back is off and my feet, you don't even want to know what they look like.
My little one after 2months of lying head down decided to turn upright last week and this week he is lying side ways, so hope he will turn right again by next week, otherwise I will have to get a c-section.

Everyone keeps telling me to catch up on sleep now......sleep what sleep, either my mind don't want to switch off or I have cramps everywhere waking me up.

Hope the rest of you ladies aren't struggling with the same problem.

NewMommyCPT - I am holding thumbs for you.

Have a good one.

Congratulations on the 30 weeks!! That is so great! :cheer:

I am really sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes. That was the one thing during this pregnancy that I was really afraid of having. But its good to know that baby is still fine, it doesn't make the situation better but there is always something to be thankful for.

Cape Gate is really an awesome hospital, being there last week just confirmed that we made the right decision to go there.

I went for my 36week (although I am actually 37 weeks tomorrow) appointment this morning and everything is on schedule. This little boy is growing so big and is already 3.2kg. I am still worried that he is getting to big for normal delivery but I am not giving up hope.

I really hope that the medication and the eating plan helps with the diabetes. All the best for you!

Have a great weekend... :)

NewMommyCPT I had the GST on Saturday and my results were not great. My fasting level was 6.1, it had to be lower than 9 for me to go through with the test which I did. An hour after drinking the glucose it was at 12 and another hour after it was at 11. Dr Dalla called me on Monday to tell me the results and I also ended up in hospital for two nights. They monitored my blood glucose levels and she has now asked me to check my sugar daily and send her the results once a week. Dr Dalla says I have gestational diabetes and gave me metformin tablets, she assured me it's harmless to the baby. I'm seeing my dietitian on Saturday to get my new eating plan. It was all very scar as I'm only 30 weeks tomorrow. When I got the call on Monday it's safe to say I was in panic mode.

I'm a research bunny and thought I knew all that could/would go "wrong" during pregnancy, this rocked my core and I humbly learned that we are only in control to a certain extent.

Despite all this action, my baby is perfectly fine, they monitored him twice daily for about 45 minutes on the fetal monitor which I have to say was the best part of the saga as I could lay and listen to he's heartbeat :)

It also gave me the oppurtunity to see the labour ward and meet some of the nurses! The lady in the bed next to mine also had bladder infection, I felt so bad for her when she came in as she was in so much pain. She was still there when I left yesterday and is a patient of Dr Taliep.

Thank you for the photographer info! :) will run through their websites with hubby and make the decision.

30 weeks tomorrow!!!! :woohoo:

Hi Gain-a-baby,

I am so glad to hear that all is well! How did the glucose test go? I found that test horrible.

I have developed bladder infection and ended up in the hospital on friday with labour pains. Luckily it was just a false alarm. Although i am super excited to meet our little man, best he stay in there another week or 3.

Here are the names of the photographers:
Janine Bronkhorst Photography
Lizelle Krige Photopraphy
Pure Baby photography
Artifex Creative Photography (Doing our newborn shoot)

I hope you find someone you like.

All the best.
