My gynae says induction is necassary at 38 weeks as there is risk if I carry him full term, this is all because of the gestational diabetes. In our last appointment he weigh 2635g at 33weeks which she's happy with. You are right, I am going to arm myself with info about my options, it's the only thing I can do to prepare.

Glad to hear all is well with you and little one.
yeah it is a a relief once everything is done and baby is healthy and safe.
Time just flies way to fast, he is already 3 weeks old tomorrow, and to think he was only supposed to come today.

The way you want to give birth is completely up to you, no one can make that decision for you.
Go read up on both options, natural or c-section and take it from there.

At first I was scared and dissapointed with mine having to be a c-section because I wanted to go with natural. But at the end of the day it really doens't matter either way once you hold your little bundle, all that matters is that you and the little one is healthy and safe at the end of the day.

My personal opinion though....I do not like inducing at all. Most woman that get induced end up getting c-sections anyway, because the water breaks but then you don't dilate. But that once again is completely up to you and what you feel will be the best for you and your baby.

There is really no wrong way of giving birth. The end goal is the same.
For me a c-section really wasn't that bad, the day after it really hurts but by day 3 you already feel loads better. And the more you move around the better you feel.

Just go do some research to get some peace of mind it really helped me.

Once you get to your maternity leave then time goes even faster.

Hello Ladies,

I had my appointment on Tuesday and all is well with me and baby. Dr says she will induce me on 10th October. the choice of how I want to give birth is still to be decided, being a first timer, how do I make this decision? I thought that because of my gestational diabetes, they will book a scheduled c-section but Dr also said that my baby is not overweight so natural is possible which scares me a little.

My last day at the office is 30th Sept Two weeks plus a public holiday to go.

Yes taking the little person home is overwhelming and scary.
But it gets better.

Awwww thats so amazing! Congratulations jinxedsa!!

I am currently in the hospital, starting my induction in 20min. So by tomorrow, we will be meeting our little man!

It still feels completely unreal and i still cannot believe that when i go home in 3 days that i will be taking a little person home with me. Terrifying and exciting!

I hope that all you other ladies are still doing very well.
