Hi Ladies,

Finally managed to get a Gynae and they squeezed me in yesterday afternoon.
I'm at 15 weeks now and doctor says looks like a little girl ( will be my second girl) but Taylor and I are excited about her even thou Hubby a bit sad. But it was good to see her and finally here her little beat

Im a JHB girl my whole life and love it here. Nice to escape to the coast once in a while but would never leave JHB.

Apologies for my disappearance. Glad to see everyone is doing fine.
Here's my update - I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and still struggling to eat certain foods (nausea and vomiting) but doing much better than before.
My next scan is on the 11th of Feb, cant wait to see how much my little lemon has grown and hopefully get to know the sex of the baby.
Still pretty tired and HAVE to take afternoon naps other than that all is ok.

Hi Nixy - there is nothing wrong with JHB but I'm absolutely in love with Cape Town so I personally wouldn't move. JHB can be too much sometimes like Maries said its fast paced but if you like that then you should be fine. If we ever move from Cape Town, it will be to the States.

I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet but I cant wear any of my pants cos my tummy is quite big now GEEZ, so I'm wearing all my dresses atleast the weather still allows. I should go get some pants soon...

I grew up in JHB. I had no issues.... I also turned out fine.

I think it also depends on you as an individual, what your likes and dislikes are.
One thing for sure is that JHB is very fast paced, everyone is in a rush to get to places, and do things.
But you get used to it.

Cape Town is more relaxed, so you will have to decide.

Schooling and general lifestyle is also expensive here...

I have an odd question, is Johannesburg a nice place to raise children? We're from Cape Town but have a family member up in JHB and my boyfriend is so set on eventually moving there. I fell in love with the place when we were there, but everybody says "it's not the place to raise a child", yet my boyfriend turned out fine!

It's such a sticky topic and I never know who/how to ask!

A few friends of mine have just bought bigger tops from various stores, and used their normal pants with the waist thing for the first few months.

I on the other hand need comfort, especially this time around. I got away with normal clothes for 4 months with the first one.

My sister bought me stuff from cherry melon when she was in Cape Town, otherwise I would have went to Mr Price or found a store here in Johannesburg.

It is your first pregnancy so you won't show much now, I think after 16 weeks you will start growing very fast.
