Good morning Ladies, thanks for all the tips thus far. Regarding the clothes and nappies: after seeing how impractical a two piece is for a small baby we decided to just go with onesies (baby grows). when my niece was a baby it was so difficult to pick her up without her shirt curling up, etc. I'll probably dress Alexander in onesies till his about 1 year old. Then on the nappies - I've read so many things about babies being allergic to one of the nappy brands, others say one of the nappy brands are better for boys.. so in order to be able to decide for ourselves, we'll just buy a few newborn nappies and then take it from there.

Hope you all had a wonderful mothers day, we worked so hard over the weekend with husband's party. Alexander didn't move for 2 days.. I was very worried. luckily I detected a heartbeat using the Doppler but I now decided to just be calmer.. I'm used to working very hard and doing things myself. I don't like asking husband for everything.. but will swallow my pride and ask.. haha.
This week I write exam on Thursday, so will be busy studying. and on Saturday we'll go to the baby expo. if any of you were interested in buying a long term cot, have a look at the website of Racso. we are planning on buying a cot that will covert into a double bed later on. Tomorrow is our 100th day countdown. I'm giving husband a pair of small shoes (for Alexander) with a quote.

Wide-eyed, I hope you're feeling better. Hugs. I also felt that way with my first. Constantly questioning myself as mother, plus I loved my eldest sooooo much, I was worried I wouldn't have enough love to share with the newcomer...

Prenessa, congrats on the change in role. Be positive about it. FX with you that you will enjoy the role.

Prenessa, ditto on the lack of sleep! Your company obviously values you a lot, it's great that they're supportive. I may also be moving into a new role at work after our baby is born, and am also unsure if it will work out. It'd be good to keep in touch and hear how that goes.

Ideally, I would prefer to work only from home once my maternity leave is used up. It's just almost impossible in my line of work. I read all the posts about crèches and nannies, but it's really hard to think of strangers looking after my baby. I wish my mom lived close by.

It's hard to know what it'll mean to be a good mom. I guess learning to let go of some control might have to be part of it.

Thanks for the support I'll definitely try to be open when struggling - the last thing I need is post-natal depression!

I have to agree with you Kiara and Stella - I'm also not keen on a baby shower. Unfortunately, everyone else is! I have already given strict instructions about not having silly games and dress up so hopefully it'll be more like a birthday tea with friends *fingers crossed*

StellaK, that sounds like an awesome idea. I would also love tohave just a braai with close friends and family.

We had been TTC for 2 years and last October we gave up and in November I did a clean up and gave away EVERYTHING baby related. Then fell PG early December... So I will need a lot of stuff, but I really don't feel like a shower. You are so lucky that you still have stuff...
