Sorry I've been so quiet everyone. I've just been feeling quite down for various reasons.

Still thinking of you and praying for you Ayesha.

Been quite anxious about the future - work, parenting, finances, family, etc. This little guy is reshaping my whole life, causing me to question who I am and what I'm doing with my life. Anyone else asking big questions? Is this just hormones?

I have been keeping up with the posts - great to see the pics and hear the news, and thanks for that hospital packing list StellaK, very helpful.

Angie, do not return them. you are going to use them.
0-3 moths will be to big for those 1st few weeks.

only if your baby will be 4,5kg's and bigger that you are not going to need newborn.

G was a big baby at 3,7kg born on 38 weeks and he wore newborn for 2-3 weeks. but when they just drown in the 0-3 clothing you do want something smaller.

and for the nappies, huggies has a size 0 nappy that has a gap for the umbilical cord, i found them to be perfect for the first 2 weeks.
if you want to stock up on nappies before hand, rather buy the bigger sizes - 3 and 4. they outgrow the 1st few sizes so quickly. and you will get the small sizes on your babyshower.
G only started to fit in the cloth diapers by 6 weeks. by then he already wore the size 3 disposable (but he was a big baby and gained weight very fast)

BeautifullyAngie, so very true. With my 3yr old, I bought so much newborn stuff and she ended up not even wearing some. In those first few weeks, it's so convenient to just keep them in a baby-grow. I'm getting two cheap newborn babygrows just in case he arrives tiny, but everything else is 0-3 and 3-6...

Question: when is the right time to start buying things like toiletry and nappies? I'm going to the Expo next week and want to stock up if they have good specials...

I bought newborn size baby clothes and size 1 nappies and MIL said I should return the clothes and exchange them fro 0-3 months coz he'll only wear them for a week I have so much to learn

o yes, i have forgotton about sample sizes, that is indeed the easy way to go and does save a lot of space.
those hospital cupboards are extremely small

hehehe, i havn't even thought about packing my bag. still have to go book my bed as well.
i actually wanted to go to the midwives, but hubby doesn't want to - their is just more security being at the hospital for him.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome.

This is my second pregnancy, but I have two girls already (9 and 3). My last pregnancy was hard and I had so much to learn and baby was colicky, so I'm hoping for a different experience this time around.

CTelly, the gift idea is so wonderful! Never thought of that. I'll have to think about it.

Stella, the list looks awesome. I might have to adjust a few things for c-section... Thanks so much.

Another thing I learnt last time around: using sample sizes for your hospital bag. It saves so much space and when you leave, you don't have to stress about things left behind. I love the ones you get from goodie bags (medical aid, Dischem, etc) And also mommy samples of body wash, shampoo, etc.

BTW, I'm having a boy. DH is obviously thrilled...
