Hi there,

I am much better today! Just a very stressful time at work at the moment, hope it will get better from next week.

I think the whats app group is a great idea - perhaps we can PM our numbers to you so create the group for us?

Hi Ladies - hope you are all well today.. weekend is almost here - which means REST!! Kiara, i can just imagine how painfull that must be.. good idea to rest as much as possible and keep those legs elevated :) Goodluck with the chat to the neighbour.. hopefully you get a compromise.

Daerhel - how silly not to allow you to book your bed? So glad baby is doing well and making her way downwards. First week of Aug is very close.. hope you pack your bags soon. Good luck with giving in your notice, its never a nice feeling - hopefully the managers and co-workers will be extra nice to you in your last month (or few weeks, depending on baby).

Ladies - i have a question.. I read on another forum that the ladies left this platform and formed a whatsapp group closer to time. This way they were able to quickly message each other of the happenings and when the babies were born etc. they also used it as a support group for the weeks after birth. would you be interested in such a group? maybe we should start one in mid July.. as some babies might make their appearances sooner? (just a thought!!)

Hi Ladies!!

Hope you're feeling better Stella and happyface!

Kiara, I got some beautiful things on Monday. And the cutest shoes for baba!!! :) I was also given a pair of slippers and a dressing gown for me, for the hospital. :)

Had my checkup yesterday. I have to go in for a quick check on my health on the 15th and next official checkup for me and baby is 22nd July.

Baby now weighs in at 2.211kg and is almost 40cm in length, 157bpm heart rate.
She's finally turned and dropping! yay! :) Dr doesn't think I'm going to make it to the 18th tho. He's estimating the first week of August.
We'll see. Baby knows what's best for her. :)

I'm supposed to work till end of July, but Dr wanted to book me off already.
I had to argue a little as I still feel fine. Finally got him to compromise with the extra checkup.
Reason is, my heart rate is between 105 and 120 bpm which is starting to worry him. They still can't find anything wrong with my heart or my blood pressure, which is mostly normal. Just the really fast heart beat, which causes extreme breathlessness....
The muscle under my ribs that's been causing me so much pain is just stretched badly, which is contributing to the breathlessness. Wasn't given anything for it.... Just the usual wonderful Panado!!
Mild case of thrush (sorry if that's tmi), but Dr prescribed me a pill, just the one, and it's already clearing up. I like that pill lol :)

Went to book my hospital bed yesterday too, and was told to come back at 35weeks.... Silly if you ask me. I mean really, it's just 2 weeks. But they wouldn't even fill in a form or anything.

Really excited now. Sounds like my baby shower is this Saturday with the family in Pretoria. But I feign innocence and know nothing. ;)
Tuesday is just around the corner! :cheer:

Now for the hard part..... I have to hand in my resignation letter today or tomorrow latest. :S

Ctelly, it's a constant stabbing pain in my pelvin area and what feel like a cramp from my lover back to my bum. I saw my gynae again today and spoke to him about it, and he says there's nothing that can be done. He gave me tramacet last time so he suggests I use it when it gets really bad but the best bet is to stay in bed with my legs elevated.

Hopefully the iron supplements will help. A lady on the other thread also mentioned having to take iron supplements to deal with dizziness...

I'm having tea with my neighbor tomorrow and will chat to her about it then. I feel so horrible and ungrateful, so I hope to get to a compromise...

Thanks for the info Stella and Kiara.. I was a bit worried there for a minute. Overall i'm very well.. only "complaint" I have is that I feel dizzy sometimes but I've read that the cause of this might be the iron deficiency.. instead of high or low blood pressure. I'm taking my additional iron supplement. Other than that I enjoy little Alexander's kicks and movements.. i'll surely miss it.

Kiara - sorry to hear about the pain in your pelvic area.. is it sharp pain, or constant pressure-like pain? you're probably not keen on taking pain meds (panado)? Does applying heat help?
Maybe give your friend and neighbour a good set of rules regarding the baby shower? then you won't feel to much on the spot and they get to spoil you nonetheless?

Morning ladies,

Ctelly, I'm sure you will make it to 38 weeks and beyond. Baby is meant drop round about this time... I've been experiencing BH since week 28, on and odd.. How are you over all though?

StellaK, how are you feeling today. Still battling MS? How's the flu?

Happyface, that's good news that it's not amniotic fluid. I'm sorry about you and your Dh's tummy though. Shame, I hope you feel better soon. Are you taking anything for it?

Daerhel, that's so sweet of your colleagues. Did you get nice prezies for you and baby?

I'm so jealous of all of you with confirmed maternity leave date (especially you, StellaK. It's so near). I'm so exhausted and I'm struggling with pain in my pelvic region. It hurts like hell.

My best friend and my neighbor are really pushing for a baby shower and I'm still not keen...

good morning ladies,

Glad you went for the checkup Happyface.
sorry about the runny tummy. you can take smecta and rehidrate. you have to make sure that you take in alot of extra fluids.

Ctelly, it is normal indeed and a good sign. your baby and your body is now starting to get ready for birth. and this does not mean that he might be early.
the next step is for him to drop even more and his head will start to go into the birth canal - you will definately feel when that happens (hopefully not to early because then you become very uncomfortable)

im working till 38 weeks. only 1 month of work left  :woohoo:
