hi there ladies,

sjoe, last week has been a hectic one for me. tons of catching up to do.

hope you all had a great weekend.

i was still sick last week, but at least i am starting to feel better. will hopefully be rid of this cold in the next few days.
with the past 4 weeks of being sick i have lossed 3 kg's. which is probably not a good thing, but baba is kicking up a storm, so all is well

had my checkup on Thursday and little Franswa is now growing quickly. he was 2,2kg and has turned. now he should just stay head down and all is set for his birth in a few weeks time. dr said he is very similar to big brother, so i'll be having another big baby.
i'll have 2 more appointments at 37 and 39 weeks.

Gerhard went in for a little operation on thursday and they had to remove a tooth. this was emotionally very rough on me. i cried so much all the time he was in. luckily he took it very well and recovered very fast. was his old self again in no time.

then on Wednesday we had a hectic scare at work. my supervisor which i work very closely with was admitted with meningitis. so everyone had to go to a dr and get some pills as it is highly contagious. and guess what, i cannot take the pills as they are not safe during pregnancy. he is doing better, but still in critical condition. and good news for me is that they now suspect something else and not meningitis, but that was very stressful.

also had my baby shower- get together yesterday and it was very nice.
it was so nice spending time with all the close friends and family.
got some nice gifts and also some cash which will go for another car chair.
will put up some pics when i get them.

I've been so tired lately. I feel like sleeping all day, but I have to finish off at work and start a proper handover, which means someone is always looking over my shoulder...

Happyface, I hope everything is fine. I recall with my previous pregnancy I went to emergency because I thought I was leaking amniotic fluid. They did a test and the swab was supposed to run blue if it is amniotic fluid but it didn't. It turned out that I have more cervical fluid during my last trimester. I still have it on and off. But if you're really worried, call your doctor or go to maternity at your hospital so they can check...

Meags, good luck with your studies. It looks like there are a lot of us studying on this thread. I just finished my semester exams and I passed. YAY. I wonder how I'll make it through next semester with a little baby... I hope you feel better soon. Have you actually fainted? That must be so scary. Please speak to your doctor next week. I had my 4 scan this morning and little dude was such a sweet angel. We got some nice pics. Will try to upload later. For now, it's back to work...

Everything is well this side. Baby is well and kicking. i just enjoy every moment of feeling him. Stella - haven't heard of you some time.. hope you are well and healthy again? Meags, hope your blood pressure is also much more stable ? Daerhel - only 1 week till your big day!! you must be so excited?

I've been having similar, but really thought it was the thrush too. Dang I hate that you can get thrush so easily when pregnant.
I'm seeing my gynae on Tuesday, and this is one of the questions on my list of things to ask about... (If I don't write it down I forget to ask while I'm there!)

I'll let you know what my dr says after Tuesday.
But if it is bothering you alot, rather ask your dr sooner. Just in case.

Hi HappyFace, A lady working with me told me about test strips that the dr gave her daughter while she was pregnant. sounds similar to the urine test strips, you also use it the same way but it indicated whether your loosing amniotic fluid. You'll probably be able to buy these from the pharmacy. Apart from that I read that its normal for discharge to increase during the last trimester, some ladies even have to wear sanitary pads. Hope its nothing serious but if you're concerned, contact your dr?

I've been reading all the post - but its so hectic at work at there is no time to reply. Hope everybody that wasn't feeling well is doing better.

I have a concern - my discharge changed a lot this past week. I'm worried that it is amniotic fluid. (but also read that you get something called cervical fluid??) How will I know if it is? I had heavy discharge lately, but it was more the thrush I think. But since the beginning of this week it is that as well as a watery discharge, especially after I went to the loo or get up from a sitting or laying position.

Is anybody experiencing the same?
