Halloooo everybody!

How have you all been? Any new BFP's I don't know about??

Apologies for the long silence. :) It's been a rough few months for hubby and I. Though I would give you an update.

We went to see a FS in Port Elizabeth in July and it came out that we have male factor infertility (genetic morphology problems) and I have PCOS. :tmi: :pinch: At least mine I can do something about, I guess. I was told to lose weight and get my hormones straigtened out. I apparently also had low levels of Vitamin D! Who knew Vitamin D was so important in the TTC Journey???

Well, I've lost 16kgs this year so far, so I'm making progress there. Hubby has been placed on Sperm-i-prove to see if we can dramatically increase his count - 2% of 40+ mill is much better than 2% of 15mill I suppose. We are also considering our first round of IUI in December, should we not conceive naturally during the next few months. Our first option would be to conceive naturally - It will save ALOT of costs!!

Well, I am starting with inofolic this week - It will help with hormones and insulin and weight loss, so I'm excited. Hoping it will help. It apparently also improve ovulation and egg quality, so I'm hopeful. I'm also on supplements, including Omega 3, Vitamin D3, Calcium/Magnesium and folic acid. My metformin and folic acid will be replaced by inofolic as from this week, so we'll see. Since I've started with these supplements, there was a dramatic improvement in my hormones, ovulation patterns and period, so it is indeed making a difference. I will also start with 50mg fertomid next cycle in preparation for the IUI in December, to start stimulating the ovaries to work. We are driving to PE for the IUI, and therefore I need to make sure I ovulate in order to do the IUI. Hold thumbs!! :silly:

Well, that's it in terms of the TTC journey. Apart from that, I am scheduled to write six textbooks for College level over the next 1 year. I've already started with two, so it is quite hectic. At the same time I'm teaching at the local college and finishing up with my last two modules at UNISA! Hectic hectic hectic! At least I've taken up Yoga and kick boxing to help with the stress of all this! :woohoo:

Hope you beautiful ladies have a wonderful day. I'll pop in as and when I can.
xx

@ TCS84 I guess the body is starting to prepare itself as the time gets closer and closer.

I must say I am also struggling a lot. Today is not a good day I cant even walk properly. I have very painful pelvic pain that is just making me walk as slow as a tortoise. I feel so much pressure on my lower abdomen. Is that normal? is everyone else starting to feel that pressure to? My stomach has not dropped but I feel like he is now pushing way down low. I woke up wishing it was possible to choose when I want him out. If I could I would have said he must just come out today LOL.

How is everyone else doing?

ooooh and I am yawning like there is no tomorrow. I am still at work finishing on the 31st. I can not wait for those few days of rest I feel so exhausted considering that I can hardly sleep at night.

Hello,

Had my doctor's appointment yesterday, baby has finally turned head-down. Not that it matters in my case, but obviously he's getting ready to be born!
He weighs 3.1kg now, which means about 3.5kg at birth. Everything still on track for delivery on 7 Sept.

On my side all is well. Except I now have permanently swollen feet and cankels :( My shoes even make marks on my feet. Ribs still hurt! Baby hasn't dropped yet.

Looking forward to Mama magic in Durban on Saturday. Hopefully the walking will get things to progress on my side. This pregnant fairy is over being pregnant now!

Hi Ladies,

As far as baby being "engaged" - I don't read much into that as for some women things start to happen weeks or days before labour and others only once labour starts. Don't think it's an indication of labour being close, but that said at this stage of our pregnancies it can happen any day now :) Frustrating as there is no way to really know when and the waiting game really sucks! :)

Betti you said that your cervix is still not dilated...Does that mean you had an internal exam? What does your little boy weigh at the moment? I am also very anti induction as I have heard that it almost always end in a c-section. When is your next dr's appointment?

Vendah I bought the Lansinoh breast pump at Babycity for R2700, but I regret not buying it from Dischem as I have lost out on Dischem points and Ebucks. I have never bought from Amazon so can't comment.

Astubchen S26 Gold made my boy very constipated and I would've recommend it. But then all babies are different as well. Some of my friends loved using it. I bought 2 packs of newborn nappies and will just buy as I need after that. Pampers premium is not absolutely necessary, but you want a soft nappy as baby's skin is sooo soft and new.

Tcs84 love your nursery pic :) Your body aches are perfectly normal at this stage. Period pains are definitely a good sign. I got period pains daily before I went into labour with my Son. It genuinely feels like you are going to get your period any minute. I remember going to the toilet and checking every time for a hint of blood, but nothing. Some ladies loose their mucus plug days before they go into labour. For me all the labour "events" followed quite closely the first time around. I eventually had light period pain all the time and went to the toilet as normal during the night to have a wee then back to bed. About 5min later it suddenly felt very wet down there and I honestly thought that I somehow made a wee or that is what it felt like. The water just continually poured out of me and I couldn't stop it. I was very confused at that stage. Upon further investigation I realized that this must be IT. The water was similar to raw egg white with a hint of blood. I had to wear a maternity pad from there on out as the waterery stuffs didn't stop until baby was born basically. My period pains then got worse and worse by the hour. That was labour for me. Period pains all the way until the end. I didn't have any back pain. Sorry for the tmi! I wonder what labour will be like this time around :) Some of my friends only had back ache. We are all so different!

Kamogelo20 I am getting very nervous about the big day. Our bodies are made for this and we will all be fine in the end, but I am still stressing about it. I am also a very private person and the thought of everybody being down there in my business is just horrible. Although I know from experience that I won't care at that point in time it still bugs me. My plan is to have a shower soon as labour kicks off and shave all the necessary places and then just go with the flow haha!

DieSwartKat I am also thinking a lot about having to leave my Son whilst I am in hospital. He has been with me constantly since birth and doesn't even go to daycare yet. I left him for the first time with my parents on Saturday for 3hours and he was perfectly fine. Apparently he only asked for me once. So that's a relief and I know they will take good care of him when the big day comes. I don't want him to come and see me in hospital cause I think he will be unhappy if he has to leave and I can't go with. I just want to give birth and get back to him as soon as possible though. My Dr said I can go home 6hours after birth, but when I did the hospital tour the midwives just laughed and said they have never heard of that. So that is something that I want to discuss with my Dr at my next appointment which in Monday. I know I am being over the top, but still I don't see why I HAVE to stay in hospital for a day?! So that is also making me stressed at the moment!
