Hey girls

I also went for my appt this morning. Baby is also engaged, but don't have particulars, so sorry, can't help, TCS84. My cervix is still not dilated at all.

At last week's appointment doc was concerned that baby was small for his GA. Today he was even more concerned. He recommended I rest as much as possible, which I have (I barely move off the couch). Apparently baby has grown since last week, but not enough. Not sure of the weight as the doc didn't tell us (perhaps not to stress me out too much). He said that if baby hasn't grown enough by next Thursday (38w2d), we have to make some decisions about perhaps bringing the baby on a bit earlier.

Although I am excited to meet my little boy, I am extremely apprehensive of induction because I have heard that the chances of it failing at 38 weeks is 60-70%, and that would mean I would have to get a cesar...which I really would like to avoid if at all possible.

Please pray with me that our little boy grows significantly this week!!

Hey ladies.

How is everyone today?
I had my doc appointment..: baby is engaged 1/5th. So I've read mixed opinions on what that means. Some say only 1/5th of head is engaged and 4/5th to go and others say only 1/5th can be felt and 4/5th engaged.
doc says because its first baby full term the muscles aren't as weak and so the balance will happen when in labour.. But I didn't ask what the 1/5th means
I read in my pregnancy book that 1/5th means only 1/5th of the head can be felt...

What do url think it is?
I'm feeling really uncomfortable from last night. My lower back is so sore and under my bust...

Our little nephew arrived at 06:45 this morning, perfect and healthy. Felt so emotional when I got the sms, not at all jealous like I thought I would be. Maybe because our turn is just around the corner too. I do feel a bit antsy, like I'm slightly more impatient for his arrival now

Doing better today, still VERY early in the day but at least I slept well and feeling more energized. Yesterday was a killer, wow.

Sorry you are having a bad day DieSwartKat. I keep telling myself that I can't stay pregnant forever! It's gotta end sometime and soon all this discomfort will be forgotten.

I bought the Lansinoh double electric breast pump. Have heard good things about it and also it is a hospital grade pump. Apparently you shouldn't pump within the first 6 weeks as that is how long it takes for your breastfeeding to get established and so on. I would like my baby to have breast milk for a year and a half so hoping somewhere along the line I will get good use out of the pump and my money's worth.

TCS84 - I think things are cheaper at Babies r us because of the different brands. If you compare the brands like Graco and Fisher Price you will be paying around the same no matter where you buy. Babies r us have their own cheaper "house" brand.
I got an Avent electric bottle warmer as a gift and used it a lot, but I had a June baby and it was just too cold to go to the kitchen everytime to warm a bottle during the night. It was nice to have back then, but don't know if it's really a necessity.

Kamogelo20 - Tommee Tippee is really very popular and preferred by a lot of Moms and babies. Maybe just buy 2 small bottles to give baby water in and see from there. They say babies don't need to drink anything but breast milk or formula, but I found that sometimes my Son was just a little thirsty and not "hungry" and would have 20mls or so of water now and again. The S26 Gold formula made him very constipated and I would give him water with or without a little sugar in between which made a huge difference. He was about a month old at the time. This is what the Paediatrician recommended. So having a bottle or two in the cupboard will come in handy.

I am really looking forward to having my hair done on Saturday. I haven't cut or coloured my hair in maybe 10months as I have just been too busy haha. Must say I can see a lot of grey hairs that I'd rather not!

I lay down with my Son at 7.30 last night for his bedtime and fell asleep. I only woke up at 2am. Feels like 3rd trimester going on 1st. Am exhausted most of the time!

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow :)

Having a bad, seriously uncomfortable day today. Heavy back ache, out of breath, feeling exceptionally tired and slight to mild period pain. Been having braxton hicks throughout the day, I just can't wait to get home and lie down :(

I received a NUK bottle warmer at my 1st stork party and luckily the Avent bottles fit perfectly (it's pretty universal). I'm sure the Avent one works well too. Must say that I used my one a lot and definitely one of my must-have items, regardless of the brand.
