Hi Mommies,
Wow time flies hey. Our babies are toddlers
Ayla has just been such a dream. I am soo in love with her. She was sitting at 6 months and now at 13 months she is running around and climbing on everything. On the chair, then the table and so on.
She has 8 teeth and weighs 9.8kgs.
She is still exclusively breastfed. I have given her a few sips of water out of a normal glass. Just holding it for her, but she pulls her face. Will give her a few sips on a hot day. She breastfeeds whenever she wants. She isn't on a strict schedule as she is with me all the time. On average she will breastfeed every 2 hours. Only for about 3mins or so a side. She breastfeeds to sleep as well.
She still sleeps in bed with me and wakes around twice a night, then feeds to sleep. Takes her about 2mins to fall asleep. When she is teething she will wake and feed to sleep a lot, sometimes every hour. That will be as the toothy is pushing through. Around 2 days then she will be back to normal. During that time I will give alternate between Panado and Neurofen syrup every 6 hours during the day. That doesn't seem to help a lot, but a little at least.
Ayla eats absolutely everything she can get her hands on. Olives, pizza, all veggies, fish and meat. I give her the woolies foods 3 times a day. Like the oats for breakfast, fruit for lunch and the lamb, chicken or beef and veg for dinner. Then inbetween she finger feeds on whatever I put infront of her. Whenever I eat anything I give her mouthfuls and she chews and swallows. Such a dream.
Now my Son was a different story. Bottle fed with reflux. Only started chewing his meat a few months a go for real! Doesn't want to eat ever. Mealtimes for him is a battle. I changed him from formula to fresh goats milk from one year and he loved it. I also used to give him the parmalat growing up milk. He loved that too. I took his bottle away at 13months and replaced with a straw cup. He never held his own bottle, but would hold the straw cup. He only sat on his own at 8months and was still walking holding on to furniture at 13months. Such a difference between the two. But as DieSwartKat says, with baby no 2 everything is more relaxed - no pressure. Thinking back now, I could have kept him on the bottle until 2 years. It really wouldn't have been a big deal or made any difference to anything. This is totally personal choice. I don't think there is a right or wrong here. Whatever works for your family TCS84. Also my Son only started sleeping through at 18months. That's when I started to give him water when he woke at night. He just stopped waking up. Before that he would wake twice a night. Kids are really so different and they don't only wake because they are hungry. They wake for cuddles and comfort more than anything.
Ayla loves taking her own shoes and socks off. Really a pain on a cold day. She has been saying Mama since 7 months. She now says No whilst shaking her head no. She says Dad, Yes, Come. She kisses and says love when she hugs us. She meows like the cat. She has also started to get on and off her ybike on her own. Not riding it yet. We roll a ball back and forth to each other - she loves that. She pushes her trolley around. Growing up too fast!
