Hi everyone!

Doing okay, just wish these dang sore boobs would stop it now!!

And really busy and stressed since we sold out house; we're temporarily going to rent and build a new house in the meantime. I've also applied for a different post at my current workplace, so waiting to hear about that is stressful.

Turned 15 weeks on Tuesday. Still keeping the pregnancy on the down low at work, at least until I know about the post. Pretty frustrating since I want to shout it to the world!!

How is everybody else doing?

Betti

TCS84, I'm so glad your tooth issues are sorted, even though they took a while. I would also fire the dentist for putting you through such hell.

HI Ladies!

Thank you all for the well wishes... Yesterday was a hectic day.. so this is the journey i went thro to get some help for my teeth ( in point form)

Last Thurs: Dentist, he said its my sinus thats causing nerves to swell and in turn teeth to ache. i must steam nasal passages and use a nasal spray. Friday i bought a nasal spray thats safe but it gave me a migraine because its dried my passages out completely!!!

Spent the weekend in JHB in utter pain.. popping panado's for relief. it was the worst ive ever had in my life!!!

Monday : Gynae - he said see ENT as there must be something we can do.
Tuesday : ENT at 11:30, he checked and said i dont have sinusitis and the teeth that are aching are not related to sinus. he said slight congestion but steam passages and that will help... he didnt wana xray but said if i dont have any relief and still suffer i must go back and he will xray and do what he can but was hesitant to give me meds etc cos of the baby
after i saw the ENT i saw my uncle ( hes a surgeon) he said no this is crazy and called his friend the maxillo facial and got me an app with him at 4pm yest.
he saw that the tooth that had the worst pain, had a filling ( i dont even remb filling this tooth but must be ages ago!) he saw a teeny tiny hole in the filling and suspected this was the cause. He called a dentist who he said was excellent and got me an appointment for 5pm yesterday afternoon.
Off i went to the dentist and the dentist did a mouth xray which isnt harmful to the baby and found that the tooth was not good inside. i had to have root treatment!!!!
the root treatment began and he sealed it up properly and i will finish it after the baby is born when its safer. he said we caught it in time as there was an abscess forming and thats why the extreme pain.... woke up this morning feeling a little tender but the main pain is gone!!!! YAY!!!

i cant tell you how happy i am to have relief and i suppose the moral of the story is that our bodies will not ache so severely if something was not seriously wrong. there has to be an issue that can be solved to a certain extent... Im so glad my uncle made me see the maxillo as i would of really died and the pain was only going to get worse!!!

and my dentist whom ive been seeing all my life is now FIRED for now picking this up last week when i saw him.. he said everything was perfect and no issues!

anyway hope you all are doing well!!!

Hi Mommies

Wow congrats on everyone team blue. I didn't really want to find out the sex of the baby until its born, but now I see how frustrating it is when I want to start buying stuff as I do not know what would be most appropriate. So think at my next appoint I might change my mind about waiting until the baby is born.

Anyway I have also been noticing that my clothing is getting a bit tight at 12 weeks but you cant really tell that I am pregnant yet. :P .

The one thing I can say I am struggling with is sleeping at night as I am a stomach sleeper and now I am scared to sleep on my stomach incase I hurt the lil bean. so nights are very tough for as getting a comfortable sleeping position is hard.

I have attached a pic of my lil bean from 2 weeks ago when I went to go check on him or her :) . it was so amazing as lil bean was dancing around a lot. and as the doctor said quickly take out your phone lets record this, lil bean decided to now sit still as a brick. it was so funny but a very beautiful moment for me and my mom. She is so excited as it is her first grandchild so she makes sure every chance she gets to come with me to check on the lil one.

Hi Ladies,

Kiara - I have tried taking ASIC for morning sickness, but it just makes me feel worse. I also read somewhere that the 2nd trimester starts at 14 weeks. I guess when you feel energized and you have that "not pregnant" feeling, you know you are in your 2nd trimester as they call it the "honeymoon" phase of pregnancy :)

TCS84 - Really hope you can sort out your toothache. Toothache sucks! I haven't owned a scale for over 2 years so I dont know how much I weighed when I started out. The dr didn't weigh me last time, but she weighed me today so will be able to see if I am gaining or loosing at my next appointment. As far as I know the baby takes everything they need to develop and grow from us. So they will always be fine no matter what. But we will for example have leg cramps if we need Magnesium and so on. So it's best to start taking vitamins in our 2nd trimester when baby will really dig into our resources so to speak. And eating fruit and drinking milk apparently is sufficient at this stage. I think the baby will be born small if you are a petite person. They grow according to your size and should be just the perfect weight for you to manage birth in the end. I read somewhere that it's healthy to gain between 12 and 15kgs during pregnancy.

DieSwartKat - Congrats on team blue :) I asked the doc about Zofran today as I vomited 5 times yesterday again so 'twas a bad day. She said even though some doctors prescribe it during pregnancy she wouldn't recommend it as it has not been proven safe in pregnancy. So she prescribed Valoid suppositories which I am not keen on even trying...

Betti - I am sure I have a bump already too. Jeans and tight pants is totally out of the question for me already and I feel very bloated and uncomfortable.

My appointment went very well today. The dr did the scan herself and said she is happy with baby. Baby measures 12 weeks and 5 days today. Could see the baby swallowing liquid and could see the little fingers opening and closing. The spine was also very clear. Couldn't see the sex! Hopefully at my next appointment which is at 18 weeks and on the 21st of April. Seems like such a long wait.
I had to have my blood tested for Thyroid and anemia and humaglobin or something like that. Dr thinks the nausea might be bad because of thyroid issues. I have never had a problem before with my thyroid so will wait and see what the tests reveal.

I have a baby bump. My tummy is normally flat, so this is quite noticeable to everyone who knows me well. Last time I didn't have a bump until about 22 weeks, I was surprised at how early this one started. Apparently 2nd-time moms show much earlier.
