Hi all
Thanks LouiseMarie and Lauz – I'm trying not to make too much of the weight gain. Just concerned about fitting back into pre-pregnancy clothes! I'll have to give myself time, like I said to DH this morning there will be lots of squats required when I'm allowed to go back to gym!
I started with the hospital bag last night. I've packed the toiletries that I have (which is most of what I need) and the marriage certificate and ID copies. I just need linen savers and then I think I've got all those type of required items. I went to Edgars yesterday to look for sleepwear and was rather underwhelmed

They had some button through short sleeved sleep tops with pants, but they were R300 alone and then robes were R300. I settled on a satin nightie that came with a pretty white with butterfly print satin robe for R300. I figure that the nightie is loose enough on top to allow for breastfeeding and I can cover up with the robe.
@Lauz – hope your stuffy nose clears up. I'm struggling a bit with fatigue.
@Louise – I think people make too much of a fuss about whether or not a baby turns. My mom was saying how one of my surrogate moms (close family friends that are like extra moms) said she felt there was far too much of a thing about delivery options and that surely the most important thing is delivering a healthy baby. Which is exactly how I feel. Some people are talking about different stretches and things to encourage turning, but I'm not going to bother. My doctor said 4 weeks ago that it might be difficult for her to turn and I don't think that would have been said without knowledge and experience of these things. It could still happen, but I'm going to let El (and God) decide it.
I got a bit annoyed on Saturday. Went to the stork party for the family friend that's due on the same day as me. It was quite nice, but something her mother said just annoyed me when we were leaving. I was explaining to her that the rationale behind the gift that my mom and I gave her (a nice storage basket full of toiletries) is so that she can pack whatever is needed for nighttime changes/feeds into the basket and have it ready when she goes to bed. She then said that she won't be co-sleeping and that her baby will be in her own room from day 1 at home (I felt a little bit slighted by the way she said it, like the gift wasn't "good enough", but that might have just been poor interpretation of her tone because she can be a bit hard to read and she's been supportive in all our other interactions since she told me about her pregnancy). Then her mother pipes up about how she'd done the "right" thing by not co-sleeping. I just thought "well

you! Who the hell are you to tell me what's wrong and right?". I think that the decision as to whether or not you let your baby sleep in your room (or your bed, which I won't do since it won't be safe for her with my husband being on sleeping tablets) or their own depends on what's "right" for the parents. It just pisses me off when people talk about what's "right" regarding certain things when having and raising a child.
Otherwise I know that I'll be having my party this weekend. Shame, DH is still trying hard to keep me clueless, but unfortunately there isn't really another time I can have it unless we're waiting for 4 weeks and my parents are going away on that fourth weekend for my nephew's christening... that and the fact that my mom was trying to be surreptitious on Saturday, but her whispers aren't too good when she's deaf in one ear and I heard her say that it's mine "next weekend". But I'll play along, I know it's important to him that I have a good party.
