Hello ladies,

You can see we all so busy on a Monday as the convo's pick up nicely from Tuesday ;)

Welcome Tonic, it can be a pretty big shock when you not expecting things to happen so quickly but like I say there is a reason for everything. Hugs and hopefully we can be here to lift you up when you feeling that its all to overwhelming ;)

@PillPusher, I thought about getting one with my first but then realised I would be way too fixated with it. Maybe now with the second one it would be different but as a first time mom I googled every pain and symptom I could and so I think if I had one, if I didn't hear the heartbeat I would probably be in casualty 24/7 hahaha. One thing for sure though is once baby starts kicking that Doppler wont be required because that feeling alone is amazing! I just cant explain it!

Since 6 weeks I was having the hunger issues, I was waking up at 1am wanting to eat, thankfully that has stopped but I cant explain how amazing food smells to me, Im so excited to be going to Lusitoland tomorrow here in Joburg just to eat some really good prego's, its a slight problem because ive been a really healthy eater and im finding that even though im still eating healthy, everything even things I have been put off from a child im wanting more of.

@HVDB you really are having a nice easy pregnancy and not even showing. I look at least 3 months already, I had everyone at dancing and work saying how my tummy has all of a sudden popped out within a week! With you its awesome though coz youll look amazing in your wedding dress :)

@Lillyr, with my first pregnancy I used the tummy rub from Mamma Mio it was amazing in the later stages I just added tissue oil from clicks as an extra boost. I have a vitamin oil from Six range which im currently putting into my daughters oh lief aqueous cream! Ive already started as I really don't like stretch marks. Will be giving my skin a good scrub once a month too as with Winter approaching my skin gets really dry.

Regarding the Flu shot, im so in two minds about it, as I said before ive already had the flu twice in the space of 2 weeks and I really don't want to inject myself the virus only to get it twice as bad as what ive already had. Id rather just boost myself up with a good dose of vitamin C in my fruits and veg to be honest.

@ Leewe, welcome! I read up that you should try get up slowly in the mornings, cracker, peanut butter with bread did wonders for me, ginger biscuits and mari biscuits could also work for you. I have found it was my Preg Omega oil that was making me have morning sickness, I swopped and now take it in the morning with my vitamin and im feeling awesome again!
Check with your gynae especially if you cant keep anything down.

Ah Aden, isn't it amazing that little heartbeat! all those symptoms will ease over time soon we'll all be talking about heartburn and round ligament pains and then the amazing first kicks or flutters!

have an awesome long weekend all!

Hi Mommas,

I've been so busy lately! I've been following everyones messages through the e-mail notifications :) I started to get "all-day" sickness at the end of week 6 and it was horrible! I could only eat cheese and bread for a while. My doctor prescribed Asic tablets and it has seemed to help. I have also been taking a pro-biotic and epsom salt baths, which also make me feel better. I hope the nausea disappears soon!

We went for our first scan and check-up last week and everything is going good. Our little skapie is too cute with his little butterfly heartbeat  . We are going to a fetal specialist at Panorama MediClinic in May to get all the screenings done for 13 weeks. I cannot wait until then!

I seem to have all the symptoms in the book at this point! I am nauseous, bloated, emotional, forgetful, EXTREMELY TIRED, visit the toilet sooooo often, my boobs are huge and sore... I feel very overwhelmed by it all. But I try to stay thankful, as this is an amazing blessing. But man, is this blessing making me sick  .

I can feel this bulge in my stomach. It feels different than usual... I cannot pull my stomach in any more and my jeans definitely fits more snug. Weird and amazing stuff! :)

I hope all you Mommas have a lovely (loadshed-free) long weekend!

@tonic – welcome B) I can totally relate to the work load – I'm also working full time and studying part time! My studies have taken a knock, but there are other factors involved (research is very rewarding, but full of obstacles at times!)

@lilyr – hehe. I'm a pharmacist and while I was still studying my husband and I were joking about and he referred to me as a pillpusher. It's been my online handle ever since. The funny part is that my mom is also a pharmacist and back in the day she called herself "pillpusher" when her and my dad used their old two way radio to chat to random people.

I'm not using anything yet. I haven't noticed any stretch marks at this point. Although I've seen that Clicks Oh so Heavenly range have brought out mommy and baby products, including nipple cream, body rub and an oil preparation which I'd like to get for myself. My bump is still small, but it's being noticed – then again, being a shorty there isn't much space for everything so a bulge would be the sensible route. I've been putting hair bands around my jeans buttons for about the last 6 weeks  I don't want anything too tight around my little one!

And I'm trying to find healthier snacks since my appetite explosion. I bought some Cup a Soup on the way to work this morning. I think I must maybe start adding some corn and noodles to bulk it out a bit to keep me from reaching for sweets, muffins and samoosas!

Hi All

@Tonic - Welcome and congratulations! Don't you worry to much, all will be fine. 36 is not too old... hey I am 38 having my first one and getting married for the first time ;) Lots of new things for me, everything is so overwhelming, all that helps is to breath and relax because you CANNOT control everything... ;)

@lilly don't talk about porridge brain.... I think that was one of the first symptoms I had... the wedding is the 30th of May, so hecticly planning on this side for me. I make all the arrangements and choices and darling hubby to be must just pay! My first wedding not his :P
YES YES YES..... I am using tissue oil (Justine still the best on the market) every morning and Happy Event every night... started the day I found out I was pregnant as my body tends to leave bad scares and I know I will get stretch marks.... I still don't have a bump or anything still fitting into my size 30 jeans, I do feel fat around the area just below my BB's, but it is still a very small price to pay for what is happening inside my womb!

Hi All,

I'm new to all this, 10weeks 2 days today, due mid November...and its my 1st child.

I found out when I was 5 weeks, a week later the morning sickness started, that and being exhausted all the time have been pretty much constant!

Working full time and studying doesn't make things very easy...

I wasn't expecting to fall preg so quickly, I had PCOS and lots of health issues in my 20's so my doc said he'd expect it to take at least a year....it only took 3 months!!! So now my whole life is upside down...I though I had lots of time, evidently not!

I have my dating scan on the 6th of May, to say I'm terrified is a mild understatement, I'm 36 so I worry constantly about things like Downs syndrome etc...

Usually I'm cool, calm, collected and decisive, now I'm exhausted, irrational, emotional and totally antisocial co's we haven't told anyone other than my folks and his folks...
