Good Evening Ladies,
What a week it has been for me! From being extremely busy at work to dealing with a work colleague who decided to have an abortion, to a very close friend finding out her daughter is 33 weeks pregnant and didnt even know about it, and then obviously my waiting game to find out if all is ok with my little being - its been one seriously emotionally strained week.
I have been reading all your posts as they pop up on my email so that has at least lifted my spirits.
I went for my scan today and baby is doing well, has a lovely strong heartbeat, we could see the start of where the spine will form as well as the yolk sac (didnt see that with my first) and the umbilical cord. EDD is 24 November, so according to the scan I am 8 weeks and 4 days. Next App 12 May
@Clueless I agree with you 100% on the small meals a day regarding nausea. It definitely works for me, I find im pretty nauseous after eating a really large meal, so have stuck to small meals, I was also told by my gynae that until 12 weeks I really only need to take folic acid. She says the PregOmega's could be the reason im waking up feeling really nauseous. I just eat something small on waking and take it easy getting up.
@Pillpusher, regarding gender my LG keeps saying she has a little sister coming, I seem to only be picking up weight in the belly which apparently is indicative to a boy, according to my chinese predictor test its a boy (it was spot on with my first born) would be interesting to see how correct it is when we all find out, try it out here -

@Bernibless, Welcome! Im also from Jhb, Meyersdal side (south of JHB)
@lillyr, I dont know about symptoms, I think it all depends with our bodies, age, our lifestyle etc that contribute to the symptoms. not necessarily the sex of baby, on that note though I had very little nausea with my LG and didnt have any other symptoms at all, besides a craving for pork sausages, wimpy cheeseburgers which subsided, biltong was my diet throughout my first and I know they say its dangerous I really couldnt stop. I believe the food that you crave (another myth) could be gender specific, and if thats the case im having a girl again because anything meaty or salty is going down pretty well for me. Although they say meaty and salty means a boy
have a wonderful weekend all, ill be due soon for loadshedding, early night for me!
