Hi EmJ16,
Im with discovery, we just currently have fallen into our self payment gap, and the appointments with my gynae are R1200, when I had savings, they would put through only R886.50 and I would only pay that.
My First set of blood tests were R1785.50, the first and second anomaly scan was R1272.30 each that was with my Gynae, had I gone to the specialist it would have been around R2100 (thats what I paid 3 years ago). Second bloods were R406.10. Then my antenatal class was R1200 (this is optional you dont have to go to this).
If you looking at going every 4 weeks that would be R1200 x 7 scans (of which two for me were R1272.30 to be exact the cash price could be more) then my gynae only after 36 weeks will see us more often not sure if it will be at 38 weeks then weekly after that if I havent had baby.
hope that helps? Also just take into account what the sister told us babies vaccines privately will cost about R5000 and she does vaccinations once a month on a sat at a cost of R200 over and above the first vaccines.
A good idea to take that into account as well
