@ Carmy as soon as I found out I was pregnant I bought the Elizabeth Anne's stretch mark cream, much more economical to use long terms, but Zee is correct as far as I know if you keeping your skin hydrated, less likely to get stretch marks.

I have stretch marks from my first pregnancy that never went away, but my skin is very prone to stretch marks also. Bio oil is too expensive for me to maintain long term.

Also as you get bigger it's so hard to reach all the places that need creams and oils, lol I get hubby already to apply to my back and belly lets him bound with baby also.

I'm currently using Bio oil but I saw a dischem add promoting the Palmer stretch marks oil and I thought I should add that too.
A friend of mine told me about the 5 oils which comprises of the tissue oil, glycerine, olive oil, castor oil, forgot the 5th one but I thought it was all too much coz she still has stretch marks.

Ideally as long as ur skin is well hydrated, I don't think there is any guarantee from any of these oils but as long as keep ur skin moist.

Sorry 4 being MIA but after my long weekend and lots of travelling drama, I had to do some catching up at work. I'm all gud otherwise. Went for my 12 week scan last Saturday, baby is fine, healthy and a very active trooper.

Guys I know its early but I swear we saw a thingy in between the legs, daddy was the first one to point it out, I was too shy to ask lol. Happi didn't u see the same thingy?

@Happi and Miggie- congrats ladies on ur lil boys, hope I'll be joining team Blue soon .....really hoping for a boy, still wanna enjoy being the only gal but a daughter will b cool too.

@Zaza- Babynoon must stop stalling we wanna know the gender please, the name is so cute thou, Zaza is just creative. I call mine Bumblebee.

@ Lashy- I know the stress of house hunting especially during this period.We are also house hunting around the pta area, viewed about 3 houses on the weekend and boy are they expensive. Hope to settle in before baby comes and prepare the baby's room too. Hope u guys get something soon before baby comes.

@ Carmy- hows everything on ur side dear?

@ Zaza, thanks for that explanation - I always thought it has something to do with your tummy scar rupturing, but the uterus makes more sense.

Just a quick question off topic - Are you ladies using any creams or oils for your tummy yet? Maybe some of the second mommies can give us some advice?

I have started using Palmers Stretch mark cream and bio oil twice a week (I think its too expensive to be using everyday since I don't really have a bump yet) but I am getting worried its not enough.. should I maybe use a cocoa butter cream in between? Or is there something else I can try?

I am prone to scarring and stretch marks so I don't want to leave it to late.

so after breaking the news to all the family (more my mum and MIL) that the baby still will not reveal their gender, they both are now convinced it's a girl cause according to them boys like showing it off where as girls are shy???

Anyway it now forces everyone to start buying neutral colours not only pink or blue if we did find out the gender.

@ Happi I lived by that blackberry elixir in my first pregnancy and the start of this second pregnancy, it's very sweet so I diluted 1 teaspoon or 2 depending how much energy you want in half a glass of cold milk, makes it less sweet to drink. It helps in the 1st trimester, 3rd trimester and while breast feeding, has so side effects on baby in utero or if you breast feeding them, but it works like a bomb restores your energy and won't interfere with any other vitamins you taking.

So last night we pulled out all my daughters ultrasounds to compare to this babies ultrasounds. Cause we wanted to compare their sizes. My gynae yesterday was certain I am having another Caesar so I asked her why do they push for second Caesar's and interestingly enough she said to me you second baby is going to be a big baby also, cause weighing it at 200g already if close to the weight of a 19 week foetus, so I compared it to my daughters scans and she was always the size of a foetus that was 3 weeks older than her, so is this baby. And baby has not fat as yet just their basic structure.

So the gynae explained when you have a Caesar, they make 2 incisions, your abdomen which is horizontal and then and vertical incision on your uterus which they close with internal melting stiches, she said just like any operation scar tightens your skin, the uterus stiches tightens your uterus (it won't be a flexible), so when you have a VBAC they try and allow if only if your baby in 3kg or under cause a bigger baby when you push can cause your old uterus scar to rupture, cause it doesn't heal like your skin would cause its much more delicate.

I didn't know this, I already hear ladies say gynaes after one Caesar are always pushing mum's for lesser VBAC's, but this explanation makes sense now cause there are risks long term to mummy if her uterus is not taken care of properly. just thought I would share, so if this baby grows at the rate it is, it will be as big as my first born and we estimate by 20 weeks almost half a kilo, now I know why I need to pee so much, I have a big sprout inside lol.

I am also only taking pregnavits, and asic tablets when my nausea gets super bad. Started pregnavits at 13 weeks, am sure the gynae will giv yu a go ahead wen yu see him.

Haven't used that. I am still only taking the folic as per doc...
Wondering if I should be taking more?
