Morning ladies, hope you're all well - can't believe everyone is starting the prepare hospital bags, etc - time is flying!
AnaB, how exciting, good luck with the last two weeks! We will also be in hospital on Christmas - I will think of you. We are planning on taking gifts for the babies and my older daughter to make it special.
Nels_n, sorry to hear about the swelling, try taking it easy. I also had nothing with me when I was admitted, but yes, having everything ready will help keeping things calm.
SimmyBunz, happy 31 weeks! What I recall from the Medi-Clinic baby bag which you get in hospital is a packet of newborn nappies, vaseline, bumcream, those maternity panties for the next day after the Caesar, and a few other goodies such as vitamin E oil for your scan, tissues, magazines, etc.
Lethuwam, haha, I don't know about the dreams - I once dreamed I had a baby monkey! Good luck for your next scan.
Pokkeltjie, good luck with the last stretch and please don't worry about your weight - I was huge and lost it all so quickly after the birth, especially with breastfeeding (or expressing in my case). Panorama is great by the way, thanks for thinking of me - the NICU staff is fantastic, real compassionate.
Gonste, happy 24 weeks and good luck with your next scan.
Hallo Nnita, Debbie and everyone else.
AFM: My twins are doing well - they are five and a half weeks now (where did the time go) - gestational 33 and a half weeks. Philip is growing well and Nielen is right behind him. Nielen is still getting a lot of Brady's - where he stops breathing - it's a preemie thing and quite normal, but not nice. He's getting extra medication three times a day now to help with this. The pediatrician calls it PREMIEpause as a joke, but he will eventually outgrow it. We won't be going home before they are at least 38 weeks or even 40 weeks - so between 8 and 21 January. Next week when they are 34 weeks, we will start with "nipple contact" and breastfeeding, at the moment they are getting their milk via a tube in their mouth directly in their tummy. Philip weighs 1,9kg and Nielen almost 1.8kg - they've picked up a lot from 1,125kg and 910g! But they are still growing slower outside than they would have in the womb. They are off CPAP (the big pipe on the nose) and are now on a little bit of oxygen via a small tube as you will see in the pics. My husband and myself kangaroo care them for two - three hours every morning. The hairy chest in the pic is my hubby's!! They look big in the pics, but they are very tiny still.
