Hello moomies :)

How is everyone doing?

@ AnaB - Think it is best just to buy a few different brands of nappies - that way you can see which nappies you and LO prefer.
With my first I started out with Pampers and then went on to Huggies Gold at about 3 months. Doing the same this time round...starting off with Pampers Premium, got a few packs of pampers active and then going to switch over to Huggies Gold again.
Have to agree with you...it's an extra special blessing that you will have your little one born just before Christmas :) It sucks a bit that you will be in hospital on Christmas day, but seeing those little toes and fingers and looking into those little sparkly eyes will make it all worth it :) Swelling in your hands & feet are quite normal - especially now that it is getting to summer time.
It could be dangerous so just keep and eye on it, if it doesn't seem to go down after having your feet in the air a while or putting them in some coldish water then it is best to talk to your gynae about it! Good luck with your maternity shoot next week :)

@ Nels_n - hope you are feeling better. Are you still in hospital? You should be taking it easy - rather leave the paining & floors for your DH to take care of! Also be careful with the paint fumes...not so good for you and baba!

@ Simmybunz - Congrats on reaching 30 weeks! Glad to hear your scan went well and that your little boy is growing so nicely :) It is such precious moments to have a sneak preview of them living in our wombs and to see all the little things they do :)
Glad you had a lovely baby shower and such an awesome idea to have a nappy braai for your DH!
You are very lucky re the newborn shoot - they are quite expensive, but something to always treasure!

@ Debbie - glad your scan went well and that baba is doing great

@ Nnita - glad your scan went well. Hope the antibiotics help....
6 Weeks to go...OH MY GOSH   Good luck with your last stretch....take it easy!

@ Cuma - good luck with your scan tomorrow, let us know how it goes

AF nothing much my side....tummy & boobs are just getting huge! I've already gone up with 2 bra/cup sizes
Get depressed every month I weigh myself and knowing that the next 4 few weeks I will be picking up the most :(
Tummy feels big and heavy....but like many of you it is the last stretch for us and soon we will be holding our little babas :)

Have a great day ladies
xx

Good morning ladies

Simmy I wish I had a good memory like you do...your personals are on point girl.

AnaB, I wish I was that close to hospital as well, l need to get myself organised with the bag.

Debbie glad your scan went well

Just came back from the doctor and we are 33 weeks now and weighing 2.4kg, I had a little clot yesterday...not in my urine only when I wiped and that was it. So doc gave me anti biotics to clean the bladder and he said he wont wait for 40 weeks he will deliver me at 39 meaning the 10th of January. Baby is fine he checks and said shes not stressed or anything so it might have been anything that caused the clot...but if it happens again I should go straight to labour ward. Bed booked today and I really need to pack the bag because I am only left with 6 weeks, I am doing the maternity shoot in January, not looking forward to it though as I am getting bigger. My next appointment is the 21 December as well I will be 36 weeks.

Have a great day ladies

@Cuma. What's happening with your job? I can imagine the stress. Hubby been unemployed since Sept and nobody wants to hire an 8 month preggie woman in diapers! Discrimination!
I have soooooo much pressure down there also . Getting very uncomfortable.

@Tanya. If I haven't said it before, i just love your 4D pics!

@Pokkeltjie. Happy belated to your LO! Wow 7 yo. You already have a baby sitter ready and waiting lol.

@Simmy. Feel free to laugh! We do all the time. Keep it light i say! I have to get injections because my blood group is Rh negative. When the Dr brings that needle closer to my bum he jokes that I will wet my diaper. I then laugh and yes...wet my diaper!!
I will definitely try the bananas thanks.

I'm used to missing Christmas with family. We lived in Zambia for 7 years. This year at least I will see my family! It was always going to be a sad one this year because my sister is emmigrating to Canada on the 16th December. She wont be here for xmas and was always going to miss the birth. It broke my heart just a bit to be honest. If baby is delivered on the 24th it will be a welcome distraction. Biggest christmas gift hubby and I have ever received. We can't wait. Next year xmas will be a crazy big affair!!!

@Nels. How r renovations going? No more asthma attacks i hope. Are you home now? I keep packing and repacking our hospital bags. My husband thinks it's hilarious as we live walking distance from the hospital. It just helps me feel prepared. I feel so overwhelmed. And bored too in between. With regards with the pelvic floor exercises...I'm really struggling to do them now. I just feel like i can't get it right anymore as everything down there just feels too heavy. For now I'm just trying my best to always sit or lie down and avoid gravity at all cost. I agree with you about educating ourselves. My cousin lost her baby because her floor collapsed. She had an operation and later on managed to carry her son almost full term. Although genetics play a big role, there are ways we can strengthen and better take care during pregnancy.

@Spirited Mama. So sorry about the hospitalisation. Glad all is okay now.

@Nnita. Enjoy your scan today hun!

Im still so confused about the nappies. Buying a few brands and will hopefully know after week one with baby.

Im planning on having a maternity shoot next week. My husband's cousin is a photographer. Not sure what to expect.

My feet and legs are swelling so much. It isnt dangerous is it?

Hi ladies.

Sorry will do personals later.

Scan went well, baba weighs 1.2 kg think he was 678 last appointment, so growing nicely, Dr is happy. Also told her I was concerned about not feeling to many kicks but she said all looks fine, 4d on Friday and next appointment on 21 Dec.

Have a great day

Hi Ladies

Bea - It is so great to hear from you that the babies are doing so well! I think of you often, can't believe they are now over a month old. My antenatal class was run by a lady who had preemie twins so we did a section on premature babies. I can't vouch for it personaloy but she suggested this book for mommy's of preemies - www.littlesteps.co.za/index.php?option=c...uemart_category_id=2
I hope you are adjusting to this inbetween phase, it must be hard when you only got to experience 2 thirds of your pregnancy, BUT the quote comes to mind "I wish I met you earlier so I could love you for longer" - and you did meet your boys earlier so you get to love them longer

NnitaN - You are looking gorgeous! I hope you and karate baby are doing well!

TanyaS - I am also having some rib pain now when sitting - especially at night after I've eaten. I think I need to eat smaller meals... Your baba is so cute in the 4d - looks so peaceful!

AnaB - I am laughing at the diapers - sorry to laugh at your problems but the things we go through for our babies are crazy.
I like your store - very cute stuff! I'm sorry about the hip pain and cramps. Try eating bananas for the leg cramps, it really works for me. How are you feeling about having the baby the day before Christmas? Baby's first Christmas at 1 day old - that's quite sweet - but are you sad you will miss out on Christmas with family?

Pokkeltjie - Time is going SO fast it's scary!! I want to read back through this forum after I have baby- it's crazy how time is flying and how fast things are progressing! Congrats with your 7 year old's birthday! I'm glad all ended up being OK with baby! My next scan date is 20 December and I am due 7 February.

DebbieF - Ooh lucky you to go away for the weekend! I hope you enjoyed it. It's 70 days today for me- it's so hard to believe!! Don't give too much thought to the dream - dreamt i was having a girl and a boy before we knew, and I have also read that you dream the opposite of what you are having, so I don't think your dream means it's a girl.

SpiritedMama - Oh no, glad you're doing better now, that must have been scary and the last thing you need in the middle of exams...

Nels_n - Wow, you should be taking it easy and not doing floors and walls if your asthma is bad. Relax, mama! Hoping you get out by Friday :)

AFM - I am 30 weeks today!! I had my scan and baby boy is weighing 1.624kg :P he has long feet and LOVES to suck on his hands and arms. We saw his eyes opening and closing and mouth moving as he was licking his arm. We couldn't get a good profile shot as usual because he loves to push his face into my placenta and cover his mouth :pinch: Things are going so fast ladies, I can't believe it! I had my baby shower on Saturday - it was a surprise! It was quite small, only 12 guests, but that's the way I like it and I really enjoyed it. DF had a surprise nappy braai, they made him wear an adult nappy and all the guests brought nappies. We have SOOOO many nappies now. I plan to do cloth, but they don't fit until babies are a bit older anyway so I will just use these first. There are all sorts of brands so I hope baby isn't too sensitive, but if he is at least some of them should work for him. I also won a newborn photo shoot at my antenatal class - they cost between R2000 and R4000 so I am really happy and excited!

Hope all you mommy's are doing well!
Good night xxx

Morning mommies

How is everyone doing?

Bea@ so glad to hear from you. The boys are growing well. Great to see you holding one of the boys. So happy bigger baby pooled through. Please keep us updated as much as you can.

I have tried to skim through everyone's posts. I know I have missed a few.

I know someone big baby was having a birthday this past weekend. Happy birthday to her.
My oldest is turning 7 on Friday and am hoping I will be out by then.

I know another mommy was going for a cs due to incontinence and pelvic floor history in the family. Glad to hear you are taking care of those precious muscles, we really need to educate ourselves on pelvic floor muscles. Please share tips of any exercise you are doing.

I know another mommy is busy writing exams. You are in my thoughts. I might have to start my degree in Jan. yes Jan. I have no idea what am I thinking. Newborn and studying and more. We will see. I will start with 1. Lol. You rock!!!!

I was admitted this morning, hoping I am not here for long. But if the need arises I will not rush things. The boys are happy with dad. My lo is so happy to be out and about with his favourite person Daddy!!! Yes daddy is number one lol, seven though I spend 24 hours with him. First night away from him over night. Seems to be a learning curve since it will not be the last time.
So far meds are helping.
My next scan is on the 9/1/17.
I have realised that I seem to do some sort of renovation with all my pregnancy. But this current one takes the cake. My body is sore. Painting and doing floors while pregnant is not a good thing. And we still need to build an extension and finish up the kitchen but once lo arrives.
I'm fighting back sleep. Let me snooze.have a fantastic Monday mommies

AnaB you are almost there...wow we soon going to have our 3rd baby

When they are young I prefer pampers premium...then I wil see if I go back to Huggies Gold. Huggies Baby also worked for my son, Pampers Active did not work and I couldn't stand the smell of it

Bea where are you and how are the boys doing?
