Hey guys happy 12 weeks to you.

@amy it could be kicks you are feeling cause I'm also feeling them and gynae says you feel them sooner if it's not a first pregnancy.

Stitch procedure went well so my doc says but I'm in a lot of pain today. Mostly back pain could be cause of positioning when they were doing procedure. Hope to be up and running soon. Glad it's done now and hope it's effective

Hello ladies!

@amy: you have given me such an idea with the tummy time thing. I am going to be on the cape (for two weeks) very close to somerset west at 14 weeks so I have booked myself in there too! My dr only wanted to see me again at 20 weeks and that just seems far too far away! You will have to let me know how it goes.

@Musa: AHOY ITS A BOY! Congrats! That is awesome news x :cheer:

@Elayne: my bloods are scheduled for 15 weeks so I will do them when I am back from cape town (around the 6th Feb)

So exciting everyone. I am 12 weeks today and feeling great (thank goodness!)

Thanks Elayne and Amy. @Elayne Amy has described the tests done well. Yes also with Doc Moller and paid exactly 2k for the appointment. It's quite interesting as it's detailed and he goes into specifics the baby. He makes you very comfortable during the process and explains everything

@Megz i think its a boy! Only because of what i saw at my 12 week scan lol i saw boy parts im sure of it.

Regarding the 12/13 week scan, its called an NT (nuchal translucency) scan. Its a very detailed scan with measurements, where the check the baby for any abnormalities. Its coupled with a bloodtest and then the results of blood test and scan are added together to calculate the risk of downs etc.

Its pretty much standard

Thanks Amy, that puts me a bit at easy. I just wasn't sure what to expect and started getting a bit stressed out!
