Hi Jillian - good luck!
I've been a bit disconnected. In part because I felt terrible for Aden and also because I've been sick. I was booked off with gastro at the beginning of the week and ended up at the ER yesterday morning after a whole night of vomiting. A very unpleasant ER experience - staff were rude and not at all reassuring. Doctor even seemed like he was second guessing that I am pregnant - asked "who" had confirmed it and if it was blood test or scan. No, I'm just making this crap up to get faster treatment
So it's been a bad week, also because my daughter got sick too

Started with an ear infection then also picked up the gastro and now after recovering the poor nugget has thrush :'(
I saw my doctor last Friday (and again on Monday after getting stressed out that the gastro had harmed my bean) and all looking good. Little heart is beating and dates are approximately matching.
But now I'm hitting that awful period where I feel very "off" about things. Kind of despondent. Things don't taste nice or sensitive to smells, excess saliva leaving a bad taste in my mouth too and I'm worried that I'm going to develop an aversion to water again (was drinking orange juice concentrate during my last pregnancy). Went through it last time too, but it hit a bit later on.
Also a question for mommies that are also experiencing it a second (or more) time(s), I feel kind of disconnected from this baby. With my daughter I was enamoured, but I don't have that same anticipation? The fear and anxiety are the same though. Mentioned it to my mom and she reckons it's pretty normal because the older child needs attention too and since you've been through it before you're just taking the motions as they come. Can anyone else relate? I'm trying to do things like look at names and such to get me more in touch.
