Hi mommies

Oh shame, Joanne! Good luck. Ginger is supposed to help nausea, some moms say it works, others say not and then others don't like ginger! You can buy Asic tablets or Emex/Emetrol syrup over the counter for nausea (safe in pregnancy). If really bad, you can get a prescription for Zofran Zydis rapitabs (melt on your tongue). I agree with BabyT - small meals, keep your energy levels up. If it's bad in the morning try to eat a cracker or some toast when you wake up.

@BabyT - shame! My little one also had gastro (while I had gastro  ) last month! And I'm also exhausted from running around after her!

On my side, went to finish the 12 week scan with the radiographer on Monday and everything looking good. Early days still, but looks like we're having another girl. Going to wait until 20 weeks to be sure before we paint the room though! Seeing my doctor again on the 27th and will be taking El with us for that. Yesterday was 14 weeks so officially into 2nd trimester and waiting for the "good feelings" to start. Boobs still quite tender.

Told the remainder of my colleagues in my building about my pregnancy last Friday and official Facebook announcement yesterday. FB announcement was planned for a while, but was a delay due to my husband working on El's outfit for the shoot (he made the skirt and cape, several attempts to make the top he had originally envisioned before he decided to buy one and stick the logo on it) and booking with the photographer. We had a voucher from a photo competition El won at Easter time.

Work announcement - some people took a while to click!

Facebook announcement

Otherwise my husband is busy with house renovations. We've moved El into a new bedroom and put her in a big girl bed. And she's been sleeping in it on her own without much fuss for almost a week so I'm very proud of her. And it's her birthday next month so I booked the soft play stuff for her party and will be buying party things next weekend. Theme is Plants Vs Zombies

Hope you mommies have a fabulous day further and a great weekend ahead!

Hi,

Joanne23, the doctor prescribed tablets to me to try and control the MS as I have lost 5kgs within the first few weeks. Maybe chat to your doctor about it...

I have found that to eat smaller portions more often instead of a lot at one sitting helps, as well as snacking on salty biscuits throughout the day. Sweets like jellybeans also seem like a miracle cure for me.

Golden rule, dont let your stomach get empty as then its game over!!!

I have had a one year old this week with a stomach bug, and cleaning after her with a queasy stomach has been a little more than huge challenge!!! And being so freaken tired but still having to work full time with another little attention seeker in the house has worn me doen this week. But I am a glass half full type of girl, so I am just glad its Friday and luckily or hopefully I will be able to fit in a few extra naps

Next Tuesday I am going for my 12 + weeks scan as well :woohoo:

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Been married since April 2009 :-)

Hi mommies. How's everyone doing?

MS struck with a vengeance this last week, I didn't really have it with my first so i'm a newbie. What can I eat or drink to help ease the nausea?

Hi Ladies,

Thanks so much for the welcome ;)

For me, I have also found that sweets really help to manage the morning sickness.... Which is not ideal, hahahaha.

But the meds that the doctor put me on has really made the world of difference.

My first born started going to nursery school on the first of September and I honestly am so proud of how brave and spontaneous she was / is. I thought she would battle adjusting from staying with granny to going to school but she had no problem at all with the change.

So hopefully baby number two will also be a trooper like her / his big sister

I have to get my blood tests done later today and then we will be going to the doctor on the 19th again... And hopefully by end of this month the second trimester will bring more energy and far less nausea - for us all!!!

Hi BabyT B)

Welcome to our little group. In retrospect I should have maybe put the topic as March/April 2018, but whatever! Seems we have a lot of second babies here :)

The hunger has hit!! I thought that it had started already, but really feeling it today. My colleague just commented that "baby is hungry" 'cause she saw me eat some toast just after 8am and now I've just eaten part of my lunch because I'm just too hungry! And I'm trying to avoid filling up on sweets and such, even though I'm needing to have them handy to help with the saliva and all of that. Yuck.

The post nasal drip has made nausea horrible for me! I choke on the mucous and then sometimes end up bringing up bile first thing in the morning... or the other day brought up some of my lunch which was very unpleasant because it burnt on the way up

Hope you're all doing well, mommies!

Hello Ladies,

Hello BabyT - I'm in the same boat. My first born was such an easy pregnancy.. this one is giving me pains, making me throw up daily, through out the day.. i convince myself the upside is the weight gain is a bit less... but still it's a horrible feeling. I feel eating little sweeties help me with the nausea. I drink fruit juices too.

hope you are all doing well.
