MOVED FROM PF - APRIL 2010

Elamsmom, it's great that you live so close to work. And which workplace has a creche for little ones???? What a gift. I would love to be able to take Emily to work with me. I am currently working from home. It is only on a temporary basis but I'm hoping that it will become permanent, as it is working out well so far. So I am at home with Emily but have a nanny, as I just couldn't cope with work and my busy little baba.

Zulu, I love your line about an "amenless prayer". I think that's how i felt too - it was such an emotional, draining time. I also battled with breastfeeding. It was a love/hate relationship with breastfeeding and I felt under so much pressure to continue, but I had so many issues with it. I topped up with formula from day one though, which I think added to the problems but on the other hand I felt secure knowing that there was a back-up plan to save me from my "failures" as a mother. Yes, issues, I know. So I finally stopped pretending to breastfeed at 7 months And I think once that was over I could breathe a sigh of relief - and I think I've bonded more with Emily since that huge issue was no longer an issue. So don't feel bad about the breastfeeding. Both our babies are healthy and strong and that's the main thing! One day you'll be telling the same story about dropping your little girl off at school. Damn they're growing FAST!

I just don't believe that our LO are about to turn a year old.

I still remember it very well the day i was wheeled to the theatre, praying an amenless prayer, my baby girl arrived exactly at 09h52, so tiny but healthy and strong.

i battled with breastfeeding and ended up giving up.

now she's a big big girl, yesterday she stood on her own for few seconds and she laughed.

I'm a bit sad, when i dropped my son today at school he cried, but yesterday he was fine, he said he wants dad to drop him

I live in Jhb in the Woodmead area. Work in Sandton on Rivonia Road so now work is VERY close to home YAY

There's also a creche here at work so hopefully will be taking Elam there after she's turned 2 though. Too nervous abt taking her too young. What's your creche/ nanny/ daymom philosophy? or are you a SAHM? Sorry, I've lost track with what everyone does

Hey L's Mom. I replied to your post on the other thread too - about the getting excited at every milestone. I do it too - usually with a few tears. Become a real baby after having a baby

Emily has three teeth. Two bottom ones, and then the top one just popped out recently.

2010 was hectic - but I think yours took the cake. Where do you live/work now?

@Scribblingal: Aaawwww!!! Emily is too cute! Does she have any teeth yet? Elam has one just pushing through at the moment.there's a timy white protrusion on her jaw. Toooo cute! Can't wait till they break through! not sure why , guess when u're a mommy, you get excited about each tiny little milestone.

Had a VERY VERY hectic 2010. started a new job in Jan, had baby in April, back to work in Aug,wedding in Septemnber, quit new job in Dec etc etc. Now have another new job. Loving it so far! but wud not like repeat of 2010. Looking fwd to a relaxed 2011, focusing on my career, my family & peace,love&happiness.

Yay L's Mom, welcome back. It sometimes happens to me too - the damn thing vanishing. I always try to save it before I hit "submit".
