Lientjie, Connor had ear problems since birth and I can tell you, a little bit of wax is fine. Till this day, Connor gets a thickish, withish discharge mixed wax, it is very different from norma; wax and very sticky. That is how Jaqi's ear looked, it is better now though not healed yet.

I bought Ruru teething rings. He likes the rubbery one but what Iv noticed he will happily bite on it for a while, then next thing I know he is biting frantically then starts crying hysterically.
He's always crying while he's chewing on his hands or fingers & he seems frustrated. At 1st I thought he was hungry, but when I offer him the bottle, he wont eat.
He seems to prefer bitting on his dummy mostly, his gums look red, not really swollen. I think I must get him some of those teething ointments/powders this weekend.

Hi ladies!

I'm glad to hear that the Rotavirus will be available again soon. My LG still needs her booster and I was worried that it won't be available in time.

About the ear infection... how much discharge actually comes out of the ear? Like a whole lot or just a bit? Sorry, this is probably a bit gross... I'm asking because she had a bit of a fever over the weekend and I thought she maybe picked up the cold that both my DH and I had. But today I noticed that there was some wax in her ear, so now I'm thinking maybe it was a bit of an ear infection? She's also been sleeping through before last weekend, but this week she woke up during the night. And she's been drinking a bit less that usual.

@EP - hope you and your LG are feeling better

@Shakira - my LG also chews on everything and drools all over the place lol

@crazylove - sorry, I exclusively BF so can't help you about the formula. Just a thought - is the flow of the teat correct? Maybe it's going to slow and he's getting frustrated?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! My DH was away for a couple of days, but he'll be back tomorrow. jippee!

((hugs))

Morning ladies

I took Imaan yesterday for her injections, shame she was screaming. Apparently the government will be providing the Rotavirus drops from 1 July 2010.

She was very restless last night.

She weighs 6.2kg now, will have to speak to her doctor to find out whether i can start her on solids.

Shakira, to answer your question, Imaan also chews on her hand and anything she gets hold of and bites on her bottom lip and is really drooling all over. I dont think its hunger though maybe teething.

Thanks for your reply.

Mine does not have a fever, he was just restless, and kept shaking head while struggling to sleep. We both didn't get much sleep. Will watch him tonight.

Well, she had a slight fever. Last night she ws very restless, and would not drink properly. This morning her ear had a discharge and her ear was tender to touch. Clinic sister said when the ear is discharging it is getting better already.
