It does heal very quickly...
They didnt use a cap, he has this elastic/string on which is supposed to prevent bleeding. When the string falls off then its healed. Doc said it would take 7 days for the string to fall off. He didnt get stitches.

Shariefa What does Imaan & Aalia mean? They sound so beautiful

Circumcision is for religious beliefs.

I have a son Mujahid who is 11 and a daughter Aalia who is 9 and after 9 years I now have my daughter Imaan. So luckily I only had to go through the agony of circumcision once with my son although it was done in theatre. Like Shakira said the cap fell off within 7 days. It does heal very quickly.

Shariefa, my Jaqi is also going on Thursday.

I wanted to ask the sister about solids, as I am exlusively brastfeeding and only starte solids at about 5 months with my othe rchildren.

Again, not to be nose or to be offensive, but Shakira and Shariefa, did you choose circumcision because of religious beliefs?

My boys are all in tact and honestly the thought of circumsision has never crossed my mind (regarding my own boys). In fact when we had Jaqi Christened, our dominee said that instead of baptism/Christening, othe rreligions may circumsize and that our own church used to do that before Christening became the norm.

Hello ladies...

Been a bit busy being back at work.

Shakira I am taking Imaan for her vaccines on Thursday and was also told that Rotarex is out of stock. The last one I went all the way to Stellenbosch.

What kind of solids are you starting Muneeb on?

Hi ladies,

EP - Thanks for sharing your story too. Your mil seems a bit controlling hey. Shame hope she doesn't give you any problems.

Zodwa - I had Muneeb circumsiced when he was a week old. So luckily for me I'm finished. Does he have a cap on or did they stitch it? Muneeb had a cap which fell of after 7 days. Good luck it will be over in no time. Oh, if he has a cap make sure you don't close the nappy too tight. SOmething I had to learn from my first boy so lucky for me when I had Muneeb I knew.

I took Muneeb to the Storke's Nest for his vaccines today. Shame he cried so heartsore man. He got the normal 2 and the pnemoccocal (not sure on spelling). He never got the Rotavirus becasue apparently they don't have stock in the country. So he only has got 1 dose of Rotavirus and they say it will cover him 96% and that will be fine. The sisters also said I can start solids at 4 months as he has doubled his birth weight and got all his milestones. He weighs 6.42kg and his birth weight is 3.28kg so he's almost there and by 4 months he would have doubled. He is now 14 weeks/3 and a half months.

Have a lovely day ladies
