Jan & Feb 2010 Mommies

Thanx for the warm welcome everyone. i remember all you girls, just havent been on moomie in a while so feels like im a stranger again.

Wow, what a hectic day, ordered all the little tables and chairs and balloons for saturday. Really getting excited now! My mom made Leandi a little balarina skirt for the party, think she is going to look super cute!

Juno, i also believe that babies will do their own thing in their own time, if it is really bothering you, then maybe you should take Liam for an assessment, but im positive its nothing to worry about. My midwife and clinic sr always says, as soon as you start worrying then the baby usually starts doing whatever it is you where worried about in the first place. Im getting so anxious for Leandi to start walking. She is cruising along the furniture so nicely, and its just so close, but i think it will be another month or so, so just need to take a chill pill.

Zodwa, my lg also still using her dummy, but only when she goes to sleep. You will never catch her with her dummy, just sommer, im really not a big fan of it so .. Im sure it wont do any harm if he keeps on using the bottles teat to fall asleep, i say leave him be. Its really hard to think of other ways to soothe your baby in the middle of the night, i also usually just do what is easiest and will get her back to sleep the quickest, which is usually milkies. Though i must say, Leandi has been sleeping very well the last couple of months, and hasnt woken in ages *touches wood*

Sorry if i left anyone out, gotta run, L just woke up from a nap and shes a little grumpy.

Juno i use to be on pampers feb. I cant even remember when in feb I know she was 2 weeks early so around the 10th or something... lol

Its so awesome to have all the Jan Feb moms together!!!!

Zodwa give his dummy to him only at nap times. then he wont get that dependent. its only bad for their teeth when they have all of them and he is 5 still walking around with it if you get me drift.

They are only a baby once... I also tend to try and do things so that it ont turn into a bad habbit but in the end it only makes life difficult. so in the end is it really worth it?

Juno, yes, it is a lighter. I am not sure how the image is transferred, I send it away to people who do it for my bussiness. This was the first one I had done, and so I am mighty impressed at how it turned out.

Juno - I was due 6 Feb, but went into labour at 37 weeks, and my midwive gave me tablets to stop it. I was 3 cm's dilated and having contractions every 10 minutes. 2 days later I told her I won't be taking the tablets anymore, and her answer was that should i go into labour, I should bother coming in to hospital, as she won't be there to assist us. I there and tehn decided stuff her, I'll have this baby MY way and we had a homebirth 3 weeks later on 1 February 2010 - my husband delivered Jaqi himself as it was just me and him present. Meags, who also chats on Moomie, came by to help us deliver the placenta and to check that we are 100%. She weighed an dmeasured and did everything a midwive at hospital would do. She instructed my dh over the phone how to cut and clamp the cord so that was done before Meags got to our place.
Jaqi weighed a whopping 3.9kh!

I think many of the Jan and Feb moms have bumped into each other at some or other point Zodwa I remember you from the Pampers Feb thread, EP we have chatted on more than one occassion and Juanita I remember you from the Jan thread.

I have a lb Liam who was meant to be a Feb baby but decided to come 5 weeks early. He's just popped 4 teeth in the last 3 weeks and should be crawling soon - I'm a little worried as my paed says that if he isn't crawling by 1 he needs to go for neurlogical tests. Sounds like bull to me - these young things will do things in there own time as far as I'm concerned.

Juanita lucky you to still be on leave..I'm already missing the wonderful quality time I got to spend with dh and Liam..I got home from work today and he just held out his arms

I totally agree - isn't it just crazy how quickly they've reached the 1 year mark!

Zodwa how strange! Liam had 4 bottles today and a grand total of 900ml! He usually only has 2 and anything between 300 and 500 ml. I was also just thinking that he must be going through a growth spurt.

I'm also at the stage where I'm sometimes not too sure how strict to be. Finding that balance is tricky.

EP is that a lighter? How did you get the image transposed onto metal? It came out so well. How do you mean your mid-wife tried to stop your labour ?? Were you originally due in Jan?
