LoriF- I know about wanting your boobs back, my son enjoys feeding so much he will humm a song while doing it and I find that it is such a nice bonding time for us, but he is old now and we need to formulate a plan for him.

my son will open his mouth but as soon as you put in the toothbrush he will clamp his teeth over it and not let go until I give him the toothbrush to brush his own teeth.

WGray- how is LO doing now? is the fever breaking? I pray he gets better. we have a prayer with my kids which goes " i pray that your health is good, Amen"

All the other mommies, what happening in your corners?

H WGray - welcome!
for some reason we have not been very active on this thread :(

as for the fever - is our LO still teething - and did fever accompany earlier teething spells? I guess the best is to monitor. I tend to get concerned if Ethan's lack of appetite is accompanied by a general listlessness

CiP - good for you and the breastfeeding. I was breastfeeding until about 19 months or so and then just got really fed-up and wanted my breasts for myself again. i find that Ethan is still fascinated with my breasts though. he often greets them LOL! and one day I was reading a book about a sad elephant and he suggested that I give the elephant "breast" to make him feel better! so he clearly associates it with comfort.

as for brushing teeth i ask Ethan to sing me a song that goes "aaahhh" and that way i get him to open his mouth - but yes its a struggle! i also let him brush on his own once i have brushed it - given that they are now in the phase where they want to do everything themselves - which by the way drives me nuts sometimes!!!

Hi guys

I am surprised to see that this thread has been going on and am glad at the same time. my boy was born on the 22nd of August and is such a joy, he has tantrums now and then but generally he is such a happy baby.

Lwandile does not like his milk, we give him Nido 1 with his cereal in the morning otherwise he drinks rooibos during the day, he loves his boob and he is 25 months old now and still on the breast, he enjoys it so much and I would hate to take that away from him especially since I feel that he is not getting enough calcuim into his body, my clinic sister advised that I get him onto a multi vitamin but I am still thinking about it.

Girls how do you brush your little one's teeth, Lwandile's teeth are a nightmare to brush because he just closes him mouth and I worry about them. any advise would be appreciated.

HI all, my toddler was also born in Aug and he has been having high fevers on and off for 4 days now! Can it be his molars? He eats ok, never been a big eater, but he loves his weetabix and fruit so it is not tonsilitis. I dont want to run to the doc as he does not have any other symptoms, other than very lethargic when he has the fever. That is it...thanks.

I only know of Scallywags near us - but check out www.kidspartyvenues.co.za for some other options not to far away.

Lori, sorry I completely missed your last post.

I am embarrassed to say I have done zero planning for Erin's bday  the day is fast approaching and I'm thinking about having something (but WHAT???) at our house this time. The first bday we celebrated at Scallywags, must say the convenience factor was great (just phoning and saying what theme you want, what extras etc, just pitching up on the day, no cleaning, and did I mention no cleaning LOL!).
The downside was that there was another party happening at the same time with older kids, and since the playground is shared, the little ones kind of get the short end of the stick so I don't think I want to do the whole Scallywag thing again for a while. Do you perhaps know of a nice venue nearby?
At least my mom is taking care of the cake...
