Nayeela i agree sounds like heaven. I use to live in JHB but we moved to klerksdorp you would think with the small town/farming the ladies would know how to bake but the little shops they have arent any good breaks my heart. Im not paying R37 rand for that little piece of icing so would rather make it myself. Love the photos

Sum physio ok back more sore today then when i went going tomorrow again.

Nayeela, I am from Pretoria.. your strawberry preserve sounds nice..if I need cake topping I can always get from work, we have loads, and all sorts. We actually make fruit pulp for dairy (like yogurt) but also do cake toppings and ice cream fillings, pie fillings and so on.

Marilu - Sorry forgot to answer your question regarding the Fondant. i dont know the northern suburbs that well but I do buy from the Baking Tin in Claremont. I am from Claremont as well. I hoep you come right. Just got o any speciality baking shops and you will be able to get it there. Otherwise at PNP they sell the ready-to-roll icing which is the same but I have a feeling it might be more expensive.

Marike - Sorry to hear about the headache. B sounds cute! They are such independent souls at this age Lol! K also tries and do everything on her own. Its a good trait I think but sometimes I still want to be Mommy and help her. She even eats with her spoon and drinks by herself out fo a cup no problem whatsoever! They are growing up way too fast!

Where does everyone come from and do you guys organise meets etc?

Lonie - Thanks man! Where about are u from? Hope you can bake amber's cake. I love home made stuff too! I even make my own Strawberry preserve to add to the Strawberry twist cake. I made enough now to last me the winter months as we wont be getting strawberries.

Marilu - Migs is so much like K. K also does that and she points to my nose, ears, eyes, mouth and she pokes them while saying what it is. Yesterday I was chatting to the neighbour and she got bored so she started poking my nose saying"Mommy! Nose!" to try and get my attention
Regarding the pics, I have a minie mouse camera Lol! I try my best to take good pics. I must agree though that the cakes look better in real life than in the pics and I have to take like 10 - 15 shots to get one decent one! One day I'll be able to afford a good camera and then I'll take nicer photies. Right now, the FB page is more to let everyone know about Sugar on Top and am getting business through word of mouth rather.


Sumayad - That funeral must have been really sad! Shame! I am glad you went to support the family though. It must be really hard on the parents!

I definitely work at the best company ever. Director just bough Pizza for all of us and we looked at the pics taken of yesterday's social on the projector! How awesoem is that!

Good afternoon ladies!

Sumaya, B loves the slide. I took a pic last night which I will post in a few minutes on FB. Daddy helped her to get up on the platform but later she'd tell him "nee pappa, Loop!, nie help nie!" (no daddy, walk! (as in walk away), don't help)
She was very upset last night when it rained and her slide got wet

Anyway about the headaches, decided to go to the dentist because I've heard it can be related. So I got xrays and the dentist said she doesn't see anything that is THAT bad, it must be from the cold I had. So I told her well fix something while I'm here because I'm here now and when she opened up my one tooth it's so close to being a root canal, so there you have it, I'm not paranoid!

Sorry to say this I know it might sound nasty but I'm really glad to hear that B isn't the only one who has only slept through less than 10 times since birth. But sheesh she fights at night, it's as if she's not really awake because she wants her teddy then throws it and screams, thought she'd get better by now but there is no way that I'm putting her in a big girl bed any time soon!
