Morning :)

Shoo Marijke that is a hard decision. I would say if you could find someone to watch B it might be nice for you to get out for a few days a week for a few hours and like Deja said have some adult company. The nice thing is that you know what you are doing... The question is who will look after your precious B?

Deja those pics are stunning! I love N's hat!!! Looks like you guys had a great day! I am sure you are looking forward to Cape Town!

Elrike how are the table cloths going?

Ok so for the get together for the JHB moms we were thinking of maybe Yeesh which is in Woodmead very close to the M1 highway. It has got lovely things for the kids to do? If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know - Patricia suggested this place, it is central and there isnt much else kid friendly in the Sandton area?
I was thinking we could get together Saturday the 27th of November? PLEASE JHB Ladies let me know your thoughts and if you are interested in coming?
Here is the website for the place if you want to check it out:

Luwan lyk of hy beter is.

Nadia, hope you feel better soon!

Deja - jou foto's is stunning! Lyk of julle baie pret gehad het!!! Wens ek kan bietjie gaan ski!!! Dink Luwan sal baie van 'n boot hou!

Skitter - jou foto's is ook mooi! Ek is mal oor M se kleertjies en haar skoene! Water is 'n fantastiese speelding!!!!

Cinds... So sorry to hear about yr friends baby! That must be so heartsore.

Elrike...how is Luwan doing?

Marijke... That is a difficult decision! My opinion is that if u have someone you trust that
Can watch B then go for it... Maybe if u can start out 3 days half day or something like that..
But I know u probably feeling guilty just thinking about it! Good luck with making a decision..at the
End of the day you must do what is comfortable for you.

Arg, just lost a long post.. my stupid internet here at home....
Marijke, jistie ja dit is noggal n moeilike besluit, hier is my opinie...

Okay, here's the setup. My brother in law and my husband has a business together, they are 50/50 in it, they are "electical and electronic control specialists" My BIL Jaco, does the admin (quotes, orders, getting the work etc) and my husband goes out with the guys and gets the job done. When the business started they were 6 in total now they are on 11 and added a shop to the business and want to expand and they are already sinking under the weight of the extra work.

Now I know everything about the business, I do the accounting (have since 2004) they have a girl now who does the nitty gritty shitty everyday work, but they recently added 2 new guys to the business who actually work for themselves but work through our business. So the office girl is swimming in paperwork and my BIL can't do all the day to day payments and invoicing anymore because he also has to go out and find work/train people etc and he doesn't really trust the office girl with all the sensitive info of the company because her husband also works there.

So I'll be a permanent fixture (I now just do the VAT once every two months) doing the invoicing, customers, suppliers etc.

The thing is, financially we don't need the income, but on the other hand that business is our only source of income and I know both sides of the coin if I can call it that, I know what my BIL's stress does to his family

On the downside however, my BIL and I have been known to go at each other like pitbulls and I'll be working with my BIL's brother whom I really don't like very much but thats about it.

I can work half day or two full days or only 4 days, whatever as long as I have a handle on the situation. And yes, I do feel that it's not really to benefit B.

Sorry for spilling my guts here but I need some input!

Thanks!

Skitter, jou pics is pragtig. Water is altyd 'n wenner. julle het so 'n mooi stoep.

Marijke, I think the question here is that you might feel torn. As if you are "neglecting"B. Can you work half-day?

I personally think a perfect set-up is a mom that works half-day, because then you get stimulation, adult company, a bit of a "challenge" every day. You also get a "break". Your child gets good care (you make sure of that by appointing the right people), your child socializes with different people and also learn that you WILL in fact come back. I think it is good for them to be separated from you at times.

However, the point is: Do you WANT to do it? Will you work in an office? Will you have to drive to the office? What will you do with B? Will you work every day? What type of work will you have to do?
