aaah vix, i am sorry that you are so sore! hope it comes right soon, before the babies come. saw your post on FB... i had the same last year while expecting ashley because all my friends and family had full-time nannies/maids etc... there was just no way we could afford it. but when ashley was about 4 weeks old i mentiloned to craig that it was time to find a creche... and he freaked out. no ways was his tiny daughter going to creche/ we got a nanny in and paid her R1600 mon-fri. somehow we managed. i cut back on the monthly R600 trip to the hair salon, stopped shopping for me.
we bought an older house in december last year at a bargain and it is big, he and i both know that there is no way possible that i can work full day, travel around the country/world, deal with creche-colds and 2 kids and still manage to have all the washing and cleaning done. to save money, ash is not going to school until next year, or even jan 2012. poor gloria! (my nanny!) we still pay this nanny R1600, but she and her DH live in a Double garge sized flatlet which we have begun to paint etc... that stuff also costs money but its worth it.

anyway, to day is my turn to shop! i'm off soon... will let you know what i bought. ps dischem has amazing specials on...
R129 for jumbo pack of pampers nappies
R35 for 3 packs wipes that have 82 wipes in them (and they are nice wipes)
R272 for braun ear thermometer (1 sec reading) and costs R460 at other pharmacies.
i suggest that you sign up woth dschem's Moms & Tots program - like clicks clubcard thing, they give you a baby bag in the third trimester. if you buy all your baby things from dischem, it wil add up and you'll get your vouchers back. i decided to do this to be smart and save cash, as i'll have 2 kids in nappies.

Chris- i keep meaning to ask, and now last night i had a dream about you so i remembered, what prams did you get in the end? How's your body holding up?

I am so sore again I know i sound like a broken record but i said to Elwyn yesterday, it's really way worse than it was with C and it's all day and night long. The best way i can describe it is like that burning pain you get in a muscle when it spasms, it's like that all across the top of my tummy but at the same time it feels like muscle ripping from the bone, man it is so sore by 7-8pm I actually have tears in my eyes and every time C asks for 'uppa mama' i just want to cry, the thought of bending over to pick him up is horrible. I really hope it doesn't stay like this for the next 7/8 weeks or my spirit will also be broken by the time the twins come.

MommyN's next up for an appointment on 26th, but i think it's 4D? vERY EXCITING!

this is ashley and i when she was about 6 weeks - still so skraal! tiny little thing!

chan - nice weight there on the baby! mine has picked exactly 200g in one week. and i have def felt it!

Yvette Kade weighed 1.416kgs at exactly 28 weeks so looks like yours will be similar. My doc did say he's on the big side and we'll have to see next scan if he's still ahead of schedule

carmen this is my 3rd, and i'm still nervie. don't worry too much about it, because every lady experiences pain differently. its a different pain than to pain you normally feel. i had normal birth with my son and then i felt terribly bruised. i had 2 stitches which stung for a while but healed quick. loved having warm salt baths to relieve pain from down there. with my c-section last year, it was completely different type of pain. it was more 'inside' quite rightly. and took me longer to recover from. i choked on tea on day 5 and that set me back about 2 weeks. i had pulled internal stitches. but i got up in the afternoon of the day the c-section to get going. had catheter taken out and i had a long long long hot shower, which made me feel much better. this is why i want ot have the vbac...

to the next thing... saw dr hottie today (he cut his hair girls ) and looks quote spiffy! hahahahaha

he is not in favour of the vbac but doesn;t doubt that i can do it. his question is the 'what if' question. the rupture has to happen to someone to create stats. i don't want to harm or lose the baby, and especially have a hysterectomy. i'm in such 2 minds. also, this baby is large! 27weeks 4days and we weigh 1.2kg. nice. thanks craig! he is 6ft5...

we discussed trials and he has the correct numbers and statistics. he was not obnoxious and otherwise about it either. he said that he has known me for along time now and would hate for something terrible to happen.... tbc....

asp - love the description PUFFY! i so relate there! it may be hard initially with your kids being so close, but ashley is 14 months now and does not know what being jealous means... so you prob won;t have to deal with tantrums and attention seeking things that an older toddler may present with.

vix - flipping lucky about the weight... i've picked up 8 so far... eeew!

chan - what was your babies weight at 28 weeks or closest to? hope you are ok. 6kg's is brilliant so well done to you.

Vix - lucky witch LOL - don't hate just a little jealous!

Asp - hope my gain is mostly water- Yes I'm a scared of giving birth - this will be my first and not matter how much I read about it I don;t think there is anything that will fully prepare for it.
