Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

Hi Ladies,

How are you? I am fine. Sorry to hear that the meet was cancelled.

My sister-in-law's baby was born on friday via c-section. They didn't know what the sex was, so they were surprised to find out that it is a girl. She is so beautiful. I can't wait to meet her in person. Will be seeing her this weekend.

My sister-in-law didn't have medical aid so she had to go to a government hospital. She went to Baragwanath hospital. She was so upset with their treatment of her and the baby. Firstly she was told to go to the hospital on tuesday and her c-section to be done first thing on wednesday morning.

Then due to the strike they had a back log of ladies needing c-sections. So my aunt had to wait. Eventually on friday at 8pm they took her to theater. However they didn't allow any family member including her husband to be with her. Everyone was told to go home.

So she was all alone when they took her back to the ward. On Saturday night she asked the nurses for formula for the baby as she didn't have any breastmilk, the nurse shouted at her and said she must just give the baby her breast, it will be enough. Eventually my aunt got so upset that she shouted back at the nurse and demanded for formula as she wasn't going to let her baby starve.

Anyway they evetually gave her the formula. Then on sunday morning at 5am, they discharged her but told her that her family can only pick her up at 1pm as they are waiting for her medication. The worst part was that they made her wait in the message with the baby for that entire time.

Well now she and the baby are at home safe and sound.
I am so glad that I am not going to a government hospital.

So appointment went well, dr is very happy with our progress, the placenta looks in tact again and all should be fine for now, he said i can resume work if i feel up to it, but i will start going in from tomorrow, maybe go in a little later and try leave a little earlier so i can just go straight on the highway and miss traffic. I have really been battling to sleep, last night I only fell asleep about 3, woke up at 6 to be at dr at 7. I am finished, my eyes are burning so much cos of lack of sleep and the 3 previous nights was asleep only at about 2/2h30. I fell asleep on the couch last night but it was an hour only, and haven't been sleeping in the day, but im gng to today.

Ok, so we never managed to see any sexes, we do however think that there is at least 1 boy, the other scan showed two little balletjies, but it could be boy or girl as we never saw anything "inbetween" and that one was very different to the possible boy, so we not sure yet. I am however booking a 4d scan to see the sexes for next week or the week after as I have the FA (at 18w, need to book it stil ±4 Sept), then next gyn app on 20 Sept. At least then we can fit a scan before the 3 weeks that we get to see baba's again.

On Sat I ate some whispers, I haven't had chocolate in such a long time and the babies were so busy, it was funny!

AFM no news! Scan tomorrow so really excited! Getting kicked everyday now and Kyra felt it for the first time on Friday night! She was so cute - I said love put your hand here on my tummy. First kick I said did you feel that - she said no, 2nd kick - did you feel that - no then 3rd kick she gasped with this huge smile on her face and all of a sudden tears rolled down her cheeks! She was so happy she had tears of joy! Then she bent down and said please hurry up I want you to just be born now! Was so cute!

Well baba & I'm fine. I just have the flu (for the 2second time now) So fed up. going to the doc today to see what he can give to me & then something for this headache that's with me from Friday.

Vix I, really hope we can found out baba's sex on the 2nd of September. Going for my next scan then, will be 16w3d. So hopefully. But we are going to the baba indaba on the 28th of August & then we are going for a 4d scan. Really wan't to know what I'm expecting.

hi vix - its the same thing that you are talking about. i'v eonly picked up 1.5kg so atleast i know that is not the fact that i am gaining too much weight too fast. i'm sure its because i don't rest. i'm busy with work always and go to bed late at night. gonna ask my boss fo rleave this week or i will lose the 5 days. hope you are ok.

Chris- good luck for the appointment tomorrow, i would say at 15w3d you have a pretty good chance of seeing the sexes! I really hope you get at least one of each!

Kimika- you crack me up!

Yvette- hi friend, not entirely sure if it's exactly siatica but i have a bad muscle/nerve pain right inside and under my left butt cheek and it's killing me. I never had any problems with C but i guess my body is growing extra fast this time around.
