Hi all,
Chris- what a beautiful detailed list you're compiling! Stunning thank you so much! I don't know where you find the time! When it's complete I'll copy and paste it onto pg1 of the thread where we used to keep the popping list that way we'll always be able to find it. My boys weights were Jonathan 1.6kg and Alexander 2.2kg thanks.
I'm still amazed how many multiples we had born in this group within 2 little months! Incredible and to think there are none in any of the immediate surround groups, not until Aug/sept when Hapi will be having her baby girls! It's as if something funny went on with the moon or rhe planets in the months of april and May 2010 to produce so many multiples!
MommyN- I remembered a few more answers for your questions...... We have econo panel heaters and yes they keep that nasty cold chill off the room but don't make it over hot so I can leave it on throughout the night and I know the boys won't overheat. Also it doesn't dry out the air which is fantastic! ........ Oh yes and as for leaving them to be babies, you know with C I rushed him to every stage, solids, sippy cups everything I was always looking for the next milestone. @ 4m I had given him biltong to chew for his teeth and a magmag sippy cup so he could learn to hold it himself, I haven't even considered any of that with the tweenies and they are 6m in 4 days time. I'm just so much more relaxed the second time around, I suppose because I know that they will get there in time, by the age of 2 I'm not even going to remember very well when they started sitting or what day of the month their first tooth came and that sounds ridiculous, I thought those were things you'd remember forever but I know from experience with C that those 'important' things really do become inconsequetial as time goes by, once they've got like 8 teeth you stop looking to see everyday and next time you look there's all 20, those days where you would say 'he was 9m 2w and 4d when he started crawling" turn into "errr I think it was about 9-10m but I can't really remember". I think it's easier to relax once you know they all get there in the end and as much as the baby phase isn't my favourite you know it won't last forever so just enjoy it while it lasts. There are a few bonus' to having kids that don't crawl or walk or even talk at times! I like that if I go out my boys will usually sleep in the pram or at least lay still, C is at that age now where he wants to walk and NOT holding your hand, I HAVE to use reigns I have no choice. Anyways that's my rant about letting them be babies for as long as they need to.
Binks- ag man don't stress about the easter egg, I remember the first time I was like no choc til blah blah blah, no dairy this and no egg till then but even then I was too eager to go by the rules, Alex and Jono occasionally get their dummy dipped in a little bit of melted white choc when I feel like giving them a treat.
Suhaila- my afrikaans isn't so good but even I had a little giggle at the hairy cat, but I knew what you meant LOL glad you're enjoying getting back to work full days on mondays, one thing I definately miss is my own identity, I know so many moms would die to be a SAHM but I'm too independant for this life and I really miss making my own money and being able to be Vix for a while isntead of just Mommy all the time.
Chris- congrats on winning the photo shoot with JOLI wow what a fantastic prize! I just know your experience with her is going to be 100 times better than it was with the pervious photographer. But your pics were still cute
A lady asked if she can use the tweenies for practicing her photoshoots on because she's just starting out and needs to build a portfolio, I said yes but to be honest it's tough having a photoshoot with twins, you need to constantly keep both of them happy and I still feel terrible because C isn't in the pics too, so soon I'm gonna get some done of all 3 of the boys with JOLI, but I think I'll stick to plan A of waiting til they can sit and or crawl.
O.k mind is blank, just finished feeding the boys so back to sleep for me.
Oh yes, Maryke- if you just want something to clear up a runny tummy check out Smecta, they are powders you dissolve in water, for any age kids just diffeent doses and it really did help with C! It's like immodium for kids (although I noticed you can give certain forms of immodium over the age of 2) Smecta is an OTC med but one that came highly recommended by my paed. A lot of people told me to just let the tummy run to get the bug out but actually my Dr said the reason C didn't get so dehydrated that he had to admit him was because I was so quick to use the smecta so he didn't loose too much fluid. My Dr was quite hppy and impressed with my method of giving Smecta and only allowing him to drink rehydrate or energade. There is just no way I can cope having a child in hospital, it's a logistical nightmare because the only person to help is my mum and she doesn't drive so I do everything in my power to avoid hospital trips!
