Like i said each to his/her own. Not trying to make you feel guilty. But i wont be using walking rings to make my life easier. Pleasure lizelle. i'm sure we were all walking ring babies but as our knowledge expands we adjust accordingly

I really hope I'm not opening a can of worms here...
But I do believe moms are made to feel "guilty" for using walking rings and I think that is totally unfair. I bought my walking ring when I was still pregnant! I WILL be using it and he will 99% sure be in it longer than 10 minutes. Who can cook a dinner in 10 minutes?????

TwinBee you said the American board has banned them...banned them from being sold or what? I live in USA and bought mine and every store sells them...

Also, for moms who feel guilty about walking rings, then dont forget to feel guilty about putting your baby in a sling, swaddling them and having them in a pram that faces outwards

Thanks Twinbee, i'm always concern about the leg/hips development - cause of my own problems with hips when little. I'll see how long i can keep Kayden away from the walking ring - cause it seems like Riaan might also be having a little feet that turns to the inside while walking - never know maybe that was the cause for my hip problems as well. Don't want Kayden to go trough the same wearing special shoes and doing some excercising. I was constantly falling over my own 2 feet - both going to the inside. I never asked my mom if i had a walking ring - almost positive i did - so it might be where my problems started when little.

quick update while M naps.
She her 16 week paed visit last Friday. She now weighs 6.2kg and measures 62cm. She's perfectly healthy he said. She had some cradle cap for about 2 weeks and what I thought was a rash on her face which wouldn't clear. He said it's seborrheic dermatitis and prescribed a cortisone ointment and said I should use Epimax or Epizone A instead of aqueous cream. Got a fright since I thought I wrote it off as cradle cap, well it was just the fancy medical term for cradle cap. It can also be found on the face, neck, chest besides the scalp.
She is still BF exclusively. He said can start solids at 5 months.

I was in agony at the 3am feed, my right shoulder and wrist was so painful. I still have carpul tunnel syndrome on my wrist. And and joint problem on my shoulder, physio therapy helped on my shoulder last year. I had to take anti-inflammotaries this am. Was almost in tears.

Anyway she's awake again.

Acc to studies babies who use walking rings dont seem to start walking earlier or later than babies who don't but the prob is c the pattern of muscle use which is not correct in walking ring babies and which can lead to postural probs later in life. Walking rings are banned by the american medical association and canada has banned the manufacture and retail of all walking rings. So there must be something detrimental to their use but i say each to his own- its your child/children just stating the current medical thinking

And Chris, Riaan was in his Walking ring from about 5/6months as well only for 10/15min at a time, cause i was SO scared that he would skip the crawling thing. Started to sit up straigt on own at 7months and then crawled at 8months. Walking, hmmm i should go have a look in his dairy - think it was a week before/after the 1st bday. All babies are different - but think it's our own decision at the end if u wanna use one or not.
