Shame, Thamu. I agree with Ms Dee, try and have another scan at some stage to confirm that it's definitely another girl so that you can get used to the idea. I can understand you're a bit disappointed, it's luckily still early enough for the idea of having another pinkness in your house sink in, and to get excited about her arrival. I think my husband was a bit disappointed that this one isn't a boy, but it looks like he's gotten used to the idea. He has even started "bonding" with her by rubbing my stomach now and again to feel her moving. At the end of the day, as long as she's healthy - and remember, when you have a girl and she gets married and has a baby, you'll never "lose" her. But if you have a boy, they tend to move off in the direction of their wife... if that makes any sense.
MsDee, as long as I'm not the only one with them

I just have this absolute phobia of what they're going to be like post-birth! With my first birth, I could deal with them, but my poor friend had one the size of a man's fist (tmi, I know) and she had to stay in hospital for more than a week for it to go down. YIKES! in any case, it feels a bit better today, so let's hope for the best!
Oh, what I wanted to say about the baby shower is don't be scared to tell people what you do and don't need. At the end of the day it doesn't help that you sit with things you didn't ask for, and luckily most people know that, so they'll probably find something else to buy that they think is cute. Vouchers are priceless, really... especially with your first one. I think back now how much the pram, campcot, bath unit, etc cost... close to R 10K. So if you prefer vouchers, let the person who's organising it know. people won't think anything bad about it, especially since things are so expensive.
ok long post... too long! HAPPY FRIDAY!
