We went to Ritrovo in Waterkloof ridge (I think). We could leave my LB at my brother and he enjoyed it so much to play with his cousins.

And the night out, alone, taught us that a couple must plan a date without the kid(s) every now and then. I can't remember the last time we chatted like that! We talked about work (I never want to talk about work and its challenges), kids (of course) and the dreaded finances topic. And it was just like old times. Very good for the soul .

About the stretchmarks... It's either in your genes or not and according to the experts if you're going to get them, no cream or oil will keep them away. I got them as a kid as I was very overweight and my poor skin had to stretch so much. Only on my hips and by now they are so light, they really don't bother me. With neither of my pregnancies did I get even a single new one. My explanation for that is that the stretching while at school allowed enough space for the bump, LOL. And I haven't used any oil or cream to try and prevent it.

AFM: I had a midwife appointment yesterday and everything is fine. I have gained 1 kg in 5 weeks. She said it should be more like 2-2.5kg? DH told me how huge I look a few days ago, and I just burst into tears, he then came gave me a hug and said my bump looks hige but that makes it extra beautiful. What a way to correct himself!

I have also found some stretchmarks, eeek! I have been using bio iol every day, but looks like there is no hope!

I didn't know about the sick leave coming out of maternity leave if you are booked off after 36 weeks, but I suppose it makes sense.

I have been looking at those Playtex bottles - is the inner bag easy to use etc?
LOL at you laughing at me!! I was talking to my pharmacist yesterday (she is also pregnant) and discussing our options for birth. I have now come to the conclusion that I think I want a csec based on the simple fact that I would prefer to have stitches in my tummy than to have stitches down there!!!!!!!! I know...I'm crazy!!! Seriously though I don't know what I want to do about the birth - I just want to relax and have an enjoyable birth.

LOL at the tiny baby vests! I suppose most folk are quite ignorant. Everyone will buy new born or tiny baby clothes for a baby shower. I always try to buy a variety - some from 0-3 months and then some from 3-6 months.

Esmari, moving is very stressful - grouped along with a divorce and death in the family. Be kind to yourself because your stress will be worse with the preggy hormones doing their bit as well!
Take it easy and rest lots. The house will sort itself out and all the little bits and pieces will work out. Enjoy your date with DH!
Oh I'm quite jealous - I still haven't had the orgasmic dreams that some of you ladies are experiencing. If only....
I did have the "lusting after an ex" dreams and then to make it worse the object of my dreams contacted me last week. I had to then tell him that I was involved AND pregnant. LOL I think he was a bit shocked to say the least What fun!!!!!!

I think my BF has now accepted my bump and preggy body. He was very put off and also is quite comfortable at telling me the truth, no matter how it hurts. So he told me that he isn't attracted to me, but now he is telling me how nice my bump looks. Men! And they say women are complicated!

AFM - I'm in a better space than yesterday! Yesterday I was ready to throw in the towel and beg to be shot. Everything was just tooo much for me. My back is still killing me, but the phsyio tonight should help to give a few hours of pain free rest.

Rakker, your DH sounds like mine, except mine can sense the tone (sometimes) & knows when lying is in his best interest. But he has a way of just blurting stuff out, like the other day he was like "my g_d you're huge!". The worst was when he was actually trying to make me feel better about my weight gain and blurted out, "don't worry, you can't possibly get any bigger than that!".
But knowing him, he wouldn't say no to some action even if i was in labour! LOL!
Congratulations on the 14 years! Hope i'll one day be able to say that.

TaNasha, you've had quite a journey with your little. But as Philipajane said, never say never. I think there's something about looking at a child that just makes us forget all the bad in the world and give us hope for a better tomorrow. So your little one just might change your mind.

Nothing from my side, except my stomach hurts like hell when i sleep. It's become too heavy i think. So i need a coffee drip! & oh, we're going shopping for a stroller, a bath unit & maybe a cot during lunch. Just glad we're finally getting ready.

Esmari, you know that moving house is one of life's most stressful experiences. I can imagine going through it wit the preggie hormones in place... LOL @ the lusgeit! "Use" DH to your advantage . It's so good that he is not bothered by your pregnant body. While pregnant with my son, my DH actually told me (he is very honest, actually too honest) that he didn't find me that attractive while I'm pregnant. With this pregnancy, I was very reluctant to approach him and felt very aware of my body. The one night when I made an excuse for my "vetrolletjies", he told me that I musn't worry, because he doesn't find me unattractive at all. At least he has grown some as a person and by doing so made me feel better about my body too. Good luck with all the bits and pieces.

Ok, I know I have been extremely mia. SORRY! I cant believe how traumatic a move can be. Yesterday I just caved and cried for a long while. Maybe it helped, I had a nice afternoon nap afterwards.
Dh has been so busy too, that we havent been spending time together. So he just made a date with me. We have a nice big bath over here, so gonna relax together, and then just maybe get lucky. Heehee.
My sex dreams returned! Woke up in orgasm for 2 nights now. Think the 2nd trimester 'lusgeit' has finally gotten to me. Luckily my dh isnt bothered by a pregnant body.
We are quite settled in the house. Still bits and peaces that needs to be done. My ankle is behaving. Still hurts and swells from time to time. Gonna take it easy today. Sit on my bum and shorten some curtains (on the rail). Maybe do some ironing. Thats a big maybe! Hehe.

OK ladies, just in case you wondered, I am still here. I am just one of those people who can go for days without posting anything, satisfied with reading the stuff the others post. Bad, I know. So let's try:

AHA? and Karienh, I found that even if you kind of specify what you want, you still get 20 blankies and funny stuff like "tiny baby" clothes... I got tiny baby body vests that are for babies up to 1.7kg. Come on, this baby was 2.7kg a week ago and we still have more than 5 weeks to go. I absolutely loved getting a voucher, because I could buy a mattress, and other stuff people don't like buying for someone.

TaNasha, whatever is best for your baby, because in the end it is about our babies and not about us. And you will see, you will want another . And whoohoo for the baby shower! Something to look forward to.

philipajane, LMAO @ the piles "treatment". Don't think I will be able to "knyp" long enough to keep them inside. I also have 2 or so "grapes" (can't really talk about a bunch of grapes like Meags calls them), but they don't hurt or cause me any type of discomfort. Bleeding now and then, but I'm fine with that. I had them before I got pregnant the 1st time and they are really not bothering me.

MsDee, I have many of those days... I honestly consider faking illness every second day. I don't though, because I even feel guilty when I'm really sick and booked off, LOL. Hope your day got better.

Solo, I can only laught at you freaking out about the video! You are working yourself up about "nothing" . Hope your back gets better. At least the physio offers some kind of relief.

Betty_F, nice that you got so much at your baby shower! It is fun to sort through everything and packing it away. I basically have everything now and just need small things like telament drops, life saver for me the last time, and some bottle accessories. I used the Playtex bottles last time (breastfed, but bottle fed when not at home) and they need the "inners". Since my son used them, Baby Boom and Edgars started stocking the Playtex bottles, so I am so glad I don't have to order online or ask a friend of a friend to send some stuff for me from Canada.

AFM: 14 years married today ! When I say that I feel so damn old! We will probably go out for dinner tonight, so no cooking for me, yeah.

The baby room is such a head ache to me at the moment. It's like there is always more to do to get it ready. I moved all the books on the book shelve. I cleared 2 drawers in the cupboard, as well as the "hangkas" part. I still need to move a heap of text books from the cupboard to the store room. And then the desktop PC and the huge monitor that goes with it must be moved, together with the book shelve. Then the room needs curtains and paint and maybe a carpet cleaning effort. *Sigh*. Still so many things. The camping cot is ready, baby monitor and all and all the clothes and other stuff in the cupboard, so at least something.

And I desparately need to start working on my UIF forms. I have all of it and even paid the agency, so now I just need to do the bad part, and then submit them to the agency. I also need to arrange with HR that I can do some work from home for at least some income while on unpaid maternity leave. It was approved, but needs to be formalised now.

So much to do, so little time! That's what I got for moaning about the time passing so slowly... So be warned, girls .
