TaNasha I hear you on the exhaustion. Its horrid isn't it? I put my head down on my arms on my desk on Monday for a few mins. BF just laughs at me as my yawns start at 7:00 every night and they are getting earlier.
How is the MS today? You managing ok?

I am exhausted! I seriously thinking of locking my office and taking a nap on the couch! Last night i fell asleep infront of the tv at 8 and only woke up at 11 when hubby came in!

Hi everyone

I'm back from the Gynae. He didn't tell me anything I didn't know. Basically the way things stand at the moment I have a 1 in 30 chance of having a DS or other chromosomal abnormality. This is just the results from the 10 weeks blood tests. I am going in next week for the 13 week nuchal fold scan, and then Dr said the risk might decrease to 1 in 200 or even dare I hope... 1 in 500. This is one crazy, scary roller coaster that I am on. I cried the entire way to the Dr and all the way back to the office. He wanted to give me a fair warning and to discuss my options - which as far as I am concerned are the stuff that nightmares are made of. I asked about CVS and he said that it is more invasive and has a higher risk of miscarriage than an Amnio. Besides the fact that I can't have one now in any case because "they" are all closed. I presume "they" are the labs or the specialist .

Must go... I have a client.

Perhaps they want to offer you a chronic villi sampling (CVS). this needs to be performed before 13 weeks and gives the same results as an amnio. From what I can remember, it is less invasive and less risky for the baby.

Thanks for all the reassurance. I'm just so stressed as it is AND I'm absolutely terrified and petrified of needles and I was hoping to avoid an Amnio. Yikes. Does anyone know anyone who has had an Anmio that can tell me what it's like? What it felt like etc. It looks horrific!! Oh boy, I need a break here... I'm trying not to stress about everything, and I get no empathy from BF about having to have an amnio. As far as he is concerned I must JUST have it. End of story. I'll let you all know what the Dr says when I get back to the office later. Thanks again guys
